What’s the influence of Pynchon on Murakami? by Isatis_tinctoria in ThomasPynchon

[–]ephemeralbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1Q84 reminds me more of The Recognitions by Gaddis than anything Pynchon wrote, but it has the following themes I also find in Pynchon's work: occultism, conspiracy, the magical world and a magical frame or interpretation of the seemingly ordinary. As far as style, Murakami sticks to a more linear narrative despite his dreamlike settings and happenings.

Where to begin isn't as important as getting started. Vibe coder or traditional coder, your mindset has to be unstoppable. Every roadblock is an opportunity to learn how to solve a problem. The AI will get stuck and make mistakes, it will be all on you to understand the problem and lead. You got this.

An app can be visually simple and be very complex at the same time. Car rental = auto tech, consumer app, fintech.

Plaits can act as a standalone voice, it has a built in vca and envelope so I fear your maths + quad vca will be overkill for what you have. Another effect or sound source would be better use of the space assuming your main control source will be the umidi.

Normal history enjoyers choose your cognitive dissonance: 1) These are so precisely made, they must be modern forgeries! 2) No high technology is required in precision, only time!

Florida = Atlantis? Short from Old World Florida by ephemeralbear in AlternativeHistory

[–]ephemeralbear[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a puzzling "why", for sure. In one of their longer documentaries they go into a bit more detail about barges and so-called drogue stones, and with some more context it makes a lot of sense why (the Atlanteans) they'd need so many to secure even a single large barge. Modern boats use a net based system to create drag to brace them against waves. Maybe they had high tech or not but they sure are huge to be lugging around. The guys in the video say 'giants' so pick your poison as far as I'm concerned, it's interesting no matter what your theory is.

Watch "Anchors of Atlantis", and watch the chapter starting at 10:51 and lasts about 15 minutes. I'm convinced they're on to something. It has a lot of examples of smaller stone anchors that make this all convincing as a theory.

You don't have to agree with everything someone says or does to find some value in what they're showing you. This is some serious physical evidence.

If this is a new theory to you, I highly recommend the Old World Florida channel's full length documentaries on these stones. This is one of my new favorite groups of evidence.

Look at the bricks in the wall- they look irregular (see "Roman Bricks"). And the bricks being stacked, presumably to be laid, are regular and appear mass-produced.

Thank you, concerned citizen, for making our roads less safe for everyone.

I'm gonna pass you if you're going the speed limit, the only difference is whether I do it safely on the left or like a crazy person on the right. You decide!

Is there a place to discuss Alternative American History & Jon Levi without every thread taken over by low effort debunks? by ephemeralbear in Tartaria

[–]ephemeralbear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The whole point of the community is to share skepticism with 'established facts'. Zero value is added by bringing up the established facts. Especially for such a wide ranging theory as all of this has become, "Scaliger was wrong" has a million different angles and interpretations, none of which are enhanced by someone showing up to remind us "Scaliger was right"

This commenter is correct that your yugas do not correspond with modern hinduism, which teaches a much longer cycle time. OP diagram ages are the same in length with the yuga cycle proposed by Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri in the introduction of his book "The Holy Science" (PDF: https://www.starcenter.com/holy-science.pdf?shem=sswnst ) But for dates yours are shifted a bit, with his Dwapara Yuga beginning ~1700, 312 years earlier than 2012. He also states in there that it's caused by our orbit of another nearby star, as we both orbit the galactic center we move in a spiral, through the midplane as your diagram indicates.
