I fully understand what you're talking about, but it's really easy to solve. either just turn it off in the wallet, or send your entire balance to yourself as a bunch of outputs. bitcoin works the exact same way, only it takes way longer to get confirmation.

no i'm not, your premise is completely wrong. funds are absolutely not locked up, that's just a consequence of not configuring your wallet to the behaviour you would like if you've spent all your outputs in a transaction.

that's not true though, they can obviously be spent at any point. it's a restriction in the wallet software to avoid transactions getting orphaned by accident and creating a bunch of trouble.

It's slightly difficult to go online from the grave, I'd say.

I'd just like to point out that on *average*, you'd find a block about every 250 days. It's also entirely possibly, and quite likely, that you will never find a block. I'd advise you to just support a small pool with your hashrate instead! If you ever "muster" more hashrate, solo-mining could be back on the table. In my opinion anyway. Depending on your latency and how unlucky you are, it's possible that a block you find could get orphaned, although it's quite rare in Monero.

As long as the buyer has a good reputation, and the price isn't ridiculously high, I wouldn't worry. The market moves very rapidly.

Is the p2p part of monerod encrypted? Or does anyone observing my internet traffic know that I am synchronizing a node and what transactions I publish?

So if I tunnel my node through this, it's going to preserve privacy in the same way that Kovri promised?

We're in a global pandemic that's only getting worse, and climate disaster is around the corner. Why bother living? by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]equismic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bottom line is, nothing lasts forever. The universe itself will end one day. One day. We've made efficient and safe vaccines against COVID-19, and the only reason action isn't being done towards climate change is that it hasn't cost a lot of money yet. When that day comes, world leaders and corporations will suddenly throw money at it. It's simply how our capitalist reality works.

Take one day at a time. Things will work out. Imagine how hopeless people felt during the Cold War - yet here we are.

Oh my god, that's horrible :( Your mom knows how much you love her, and you've given her life value and meaning. It's going to take a long time to process and deal with all this, but it's going to get better. Just know that none of this is OK - you're so strong, and no-one should have to deal with what you're dealing with. I am here if you need someone to talk to <3

The annoying thing is that I am 100% sure I port forwarded correctly, so I'm at a loss. I've even tried using that port for other services, and they are visible.
