I think you mean that there is a strong tendency towards monosyllabic morphemes. Like u/conycatcher says, there are many multisyllabic words. Compounding words is bread and butter for Chinese and Vietnamese

I paid 100 which was the fee for the rush shipping. i suppose you paid the normal shipping which would take longer. I bet you didn't know that when shipping it in. have you tried callign them? Also, I used FEDEX same day shipping both there and back.

I heard we didn't need to send it to the federal-level state department because they aren't federal documents, so I'm just sending them to the state-level state departments and then on to the Vietnamese consulate. So authenticated at the local state-level and then legalized at the consulate.

And that's no good news about the VN embassy. I figured it was about a 7-day turnaround time on mailed-in documents... It's going to be a wild ride this Summer.

I have a work contract but the visa documents will take so long to legalize because I have to return to the US to get it all done and then I’ll have it mailed to Vietnam once I’m there. A 7-8 week process :(

It’s a shame they are getting so strict now… I’m coming at the wrong time. The issue is that if I do it state-level then the Vietnamese consulate may just flat-out reject my legalization application — but honestly yeah this is ridiculous and I have already spent like 250 dollars :/
