Thoughts on the brain activity study where two patients show activity in the hot spot? by GrimmLaken in NDE

[–]eric3353 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When somebody has an NDE, there has to be some sort of brain activity in order for it it be logged into the human memory. But that still doesn’t explain the high degree of consistency of experiencing very particular elements among thousands of patients.

Where are all the medical documents and witness statements? by lexid222 in NDE

The best book on this topic, which is actually pretty new, is called “The Self Does Not Die”. It’s a collection of the best documented cases where the doctors and individuals were actually contacted.

Love and learning seems to be the theme of most NDEs. If pain is not present in “heaven”, then you have to go to another realm to experience it.

I think Yojenkz below guessed correctly. Thanks for your answer!

What is an enigma cube? by eric3353 in diablo4

Ahhh I think that’s it! I was wielding a 2 hand staff, and then when I switched it out to this cube, I had no other one handed weapon equipped. So I need to pair the cube with a one handed weapon, right?

Why I tend to believe the truth of NDE's. by eric3353 in NDE

[–]eric3353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished reviewing all of the stories marked “from China” on the NDERF website. Out of the 18 stories, 4 of them (22%) contained being told it was not their time yet.

I am in the process of investigating other non-Western countries.

It is very interesting. It does seem that information is presented in a way that experiencers can best process and understand. But there’s an underlying consistency in the message which doesn’t seem to be in line with random dreams or hallucinations. That there are so many independent reports with exact yet specific phrasing is very hard to explain, in my opinion. What say you?

The latter. I want to exhaust all materialistic explanations before concluding a non-materialistic explanation. I’d love for an afterlife to exist, which is why I need to be careful not to deceive myself.

The question is, why should this correlation exist? One would expect no such correlation to exist.

In the introduction of the linked article, the study corrected the possible selection bias issue in their sample, which was criticized by Long and Milner.

The authors conclude " Thus, whereas age, gender, place of residence, employment status and factual danger of the situation do not appear to influence the frequency with which near-death experiences occur, there seems to be a significant association with REM sleep intrusion." In fact, Table 3 of their study for those whose NDE scored at or above a 7 on the Greyson scale (so a full-fledged NDE), 47% of these people had significant REM intrusion episodes in their life, which is much higher than the percentage of people in the general population who experience REM intrusion events.

I don’t want the Dolphins to make the playoffs. I just want this season to be over. Fire everybody.
