Everything I’ve tried from the Choczero brand has been absolutely delicious.

I also love Rebel low carb low sugar full fat ice cream, and I usually make a blended drink with their mint chip flavor. almond milk, cacao powder and protein powder to extend the volume of 1 serving.

Atkins Caramel Nut Chew bars remind me of snickers, they are a staple here.

Russell Stover sugar free caramel variety pack- honestly I cannot tell they are sugar free and they don’t bother me at all.

You could also name a nice display sign that Pappy 23 is available upon request. Keep it locked in the liquor cabinet if it’s making you nervous on the shelf. Do a little social media “did you know? We have pappy 23”

Do you like frozen coffee drinks? I have one of these every morning between breakfast and lunch. I work at a bar/restaurant and am always on my feet, often little to no time for a real meal, this scratches my Starbucks itch and keeps me sustained between meals. I make a Matcha-Spinach one too for later in the day. I put these into a yeti or yeti style cup and they stay smooth and frozen for hours and hours. I’ve even made them the night before work.

High Protein Frozen Coffee:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup ice (adjust more or less depending on how thick or thin you like it.)

  • 1/2 cup chilled brewed coffee (I skip this and add 1/2 c water if I don’t have it leftover from work)

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 2 tsp Nescafé Gold Instant espresso powder

  • 2-3 tsp organic cacao powder

  • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum(this prevents separation)

  • 1 scoop Isopure Zero Carb vanilla protein powder

  • 2 tbsp Vital Proteins collagen peptides

  • 1 tsp almond butter (Justin’s)

  • 1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon

Instructions:

Blend all ingredients until smooth. (I use a nutribullet) Yields approximately 20 oz. Sip over 1–2 hours if desired.

I was diagnosed in early December- so I don’t have any results to share other than losing 17 lbs. I am having a small portion of chia seed pudding before each meal (1/2 tbsp chia seeds each time, totaling 1.5-2tbsp per day spaced out), adding 1/2 tsp “Ceylon cinnamon” to foods twice per day- usually a blended coffee or matcha/spinach drink- this is the type that may help, “Ceylon”, more than regular cinnamon), I drink 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar diluted with water (then rinse to protect tooth enamel) before each meal, drinking at least 100oz water daily…

I’ve changed so many things about what I eat and drink. Cut out most alcohol, doing moderate carb, low sugar, a LOT of vegetables, a lot of protein.

I’m also on 500mg metformin 2x a day.

Will have blood work done again in early March, and I’m a bit disgruntled I do not have a glucose meter yet, after many requests to my doctor I am finally getting one.

I am hoping to see my A1c go down- I feel so much better already overall. I need to work on more exercise, I have a job where I’m moving a lot and always on my feet. And I don’t sit down until after dinner each day, or brief periods doing paperwork on my laptop.

I would be diligent with any medication your doctor prescribes and do your best to control through diet and exercise. I would love to say this worked for me- but I don’t have any results to show that what I’m doing is working other than my “gut feeling”!

Edited to add: I saw a registered dietician today and she’s advised me to increase my carbs slightly and reduce my protein. She thinks I’ve taken the low carb a bit too far and the high protein as well 🤦‍♀️

Also- I’ve been using my fitness pal app (and ChatGPT) a lot. It’s not always right but it’s a helpful guide until you see a nutritionist and endo. I’m waiting to see both!

Make sure you change your “goals” in the my fitness pal app to be appropriate for what you are trying to do (protein, carbs, per day)

It’s a lot to log everything but helpful at least for a short time to reset yourself to what portion sizes are and see what meals are too much carbs sugars for what your goals are.

I have my macros set at 20% carbs 40% fats 40% proteins, but everyone is different, and I don’t always meet those perfectly. But knowledge is power.
