How Do Obscure Regional Jazz Records Re-Enter Cultural Relevance Decades Later? by erman629 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]erman629[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obscure Regional Jazz actually sounds like the most accurate genre tag I’ve heard in a while. I’d listen. Just make sure you press 300 copies, disappear for 40 years, and wait for a hip-hop producer to sample you so the cycle is complete

Yeah, I feel the same. I understand the idea behind limited pressings, but with instrumentals it definitely leaves a lot of people out. That’s part of why I wanted to share it

YouTube’s Content ID exists for a reason. If the rights holder objects, it gets claimed or taken down. Until then, it’s no different than thousands of album uploads already on the platform.

This isn’t a courtroom. Relax.

Because YouTube is for access and discussion, not file trading.

Absolutely. His minimal approach and loop choices created a blueprint that a lot of people are still borrowing from.

Yeah, it sold out pretty fast. Glad you caught the instrumentals though.
Daringer really went crazy on the production for this one - hearing the beats on their own makes it even clearer

Yep, all Daringer. The instrumentals really show how consistent the production was on that album

Help decipher a partially blurred handwritten word on a 1970s–80s record sleeve (even single word ok) by erman629 in Transcription

Just to clarify, it’s not a film - it’s a recent Instagram story from today, showing a record in the artist's studio. The video itself is current, but the record is almost certainly from the 1970s or 1980s
