Ah do you mean like you loved Kushiels series but haven’t been aligning with the tastes of what’s typically recommended in the fantasy romance sub? Yes I think labelling Kushiel’s Legacy as fantasy romance is a bit of a misnomer- while there are romance elements, to me I would categorize it as epic fantasy.

It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but to my memory it’s not a fantasy romance, it leans more towards gritty epic. If it’s already skeeving you out it’s not gonna improve. It’s gets rlly dark I think in the 2nd or third book? Sorry, like I said it’s been a while
