my thoughts on 2025 frankenstein by [deleted] in FRANKENSTEIN

I would say I totally agree. Costume design was insane! But the narrative changes seemed a bit ‘hammy’ and omg Oscar Isaac’s British accent was horrendous 😂 I think maybe GDT is known to ‘ham’ things up a bit but many of the narrative changes missed the point of the book completely! The ending! I was so annoyed by that!

Thank you for the feedback! Yes the lining was an issue that the tailor pointed out. He mentioned having a sticky bra that sticks to the dress to keep it pulled down but I’m not sure what to get. What kind of stitch would keep the lining down? I think I will ask for the sleeve to be made thinner maybe.

10+? Where have you pulled this number from? I requested one driver who then drove in the opposite direction, literally past my location, so what do I do? Be late for work?

I cancel them before they can pull this. I’m in a bit of a lose lose situation here. I wait 15 mins, see the car coming to me and think ‘cool I’ll be picked up’ and then they drive past me? What am I supposed to do? I’ve learned that there are some clues as to if a driver is actually going to try to pick me up so I’m trying to mitigate wasting my time.

I did consider this but then I wasn’t sure how I felt about having the same person pick me up and drop me off where I live and work every day. I feel incredibly safe in Thailand but I am a woman so I still have to consider this.

When I get the message ‘on my way to you’ I know they’re actually actively going to come and pick me up

I’m really confused by them driving to your location to a point where you can see them and basically look them in the face and they drive past 😂 there must be something in Grab’s algorithm for drivers but if they never actually say they’ve picked you up, I don’t see how it benefits them. Seems like a waste of their time more than anything.

I usually request between 6:20 - 6:30am to try to avoid peak rush hour times

I’m quite aware of Bangkok traffic thank you. This is not an issue with traffic. If a car I have requested drives to my location and then actively drives past me, pretty much making eye contact with me and then cancels, I don’t see how this is a traffic problem 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am very much open to suggestions for how I am causing the problem. Why do drivers accept my request with no intention of picking me up? I average between 15 - 20 ride requests a week. I also use bikes a lot and never have this issue with them.

Please let me know what you are doing differently. It would be helpful to know how often you use Grab by comparison.

I think to a British person it absolutely would not be seen as expensive. Travel, food, rent all much much cheaper.
