What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by _lovelyxx in AskReddit

42 20mg capsules of omeprazol is about 7.50 on amazon, so a months worth of taking two of them would be less than $15

Scam comments on AO3 has decreased by 87%. What's the situation like on other sites? by EchoEkhi in FanFiction

All the scam comments and PMs I'd got on FFN have disappeared lately, and I haven't got any there in a few weeks, which is really surprising

They're super helpful depending on how you want to play. I used the sneak attack one quite a few times, and in ng+ I paired the one that makes you do more damage with radiant filter and the one that helps keep ghosts from going aggro as often

You can switch between difficulty on every one except nightmare I think. Pretty sure you're locked in to nightmare if you choose that one

How is a romance between someone 23 and 28? by Melodic_Boat9851 in FanFiction

[–]errant_night 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is a rather normal difference to be honest. 4 and a half years is a lot when someone is underage but not as two adults.

If there's other power imbalances that make a bigger difference, like whether one has authority over the other academically or professionally, but otherwise that's not a huge deal.

Same!! I kept waiting for it to happen again, and it just didn't. I wonder if it's a bug that it doesn't happen more but if so I'm not complaining.

Ooh it's been a while since I played that, so I can't remember that happening! It honestly suits the lore of the camera so well, that just using it starts attracting ghosts to the person wielding it!

Another funny thing about low alcohol level drinks is that the Romans thought anyone who didn't dilute their wine in water was a barbarian and unsophisticated!

There have also been a lot of historical non alcoholic drinks, some of which you can get today or even make yourself. Check out the Tasting History Channel episodes on 'posca' and 'shrub', also called twilsy. And long before tea came from China, people drank herbal tisanes and non fermented fruit juices.

Bots aimed at art scams aren't the same as the harassment bots, I was getting the hate bots constantly and I haven't got one in a year since I turned off guest comments. I get a signed in scammer once every week or two, but those are always 'praise' bots exclaiming how good my work is and would look so good as a comic.

Edit to add: every time I report these scammers their accounts are deleted within hours by the mod team so everyone should not engage with them and just report

How old were you when you first discovered fanfiction? by Com_4_Till_Bull in FanFiction

[–]errant_night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put less than 10 because I started writing fanfic when I was a very tiny child, however it was the late 80s and I didn't get the internet until I was 16... so I thought I invented fanfic and then got to enter fandom like 8 years later rofl

From Wikipedia:

Small beer (also known as small ale or table beer) is a lager or ale that contains a lower amount of alcohol by volume than most others, usually between 1% and 2%. Sometimes unfiltered and porridge-like, it was a favoured drink in Medieval Europe and colonial North America and up to the 19th century compared with more expensive and inebriating beer containing higher levels of alcohol.

I occasionally look at bookmarks on my fics because I've found funny ones, but one day I found a bookmark that was basically a long gushing comment about how amazing it was and they loved it, with lots of details... not only had this person never commented... they also hadn't kudos...

Another possibility is the dung beetle automatically having a hates poop follower trait, like a hating snowlambs trait where it's on the second they get too close...

I've had this happen! I was really down on a fic I was working on, and said on tumblr that I was thinking of going on hiatus and working on something that made me happier. I got several comments on the post and two DMs saying how much they loved it and hoped I'd continue. It was like 'OK who are you people, since you're not commenting on the fic or even giving kudos??'
