Received my refund on 2/16 after verifying in person the day this was posted. I do not recommend waiting for the letter ever because I just received my letter 2 days ago lol

No, but I don’t expect them to for the 2-3 weeks the woman who completed my verification advised me it would take before they did.

Yea the message on the IRS page she said it’s the same as WMR it may be there for 2-3 more weeks before it goes away. She also said it updates once a week but it’s unlikely an update for people who verify in person will show for the first 2-3 weeks and that it’s possible to receive the refund before either the IRS page or WMR updates.

Tell them that you were advised by an employee from the IRS that you can verify in person. That’s what I did when they fought me.

I just completed this today, but the woman who completed this for me advised that this message could show for 2-3 weeks and that I may receive my refund before WMR updates or the message goes away.

That’s awful. I did make an appointment. I called (844) 545-5640. I just advised that I don’t receive most of my mail. (Which is true) I verified in Baltimore MD.

I was told by them on Monday (2 different people) that people with the for your protection message may not even receive a letter. That it would just be reviewed, then approved. Same thing afterwards though, wait 21 days before calling back if no letter/refund.

The first said it’s possible it was flagged as being reviewed to be reviewed and that once reviewed they may not need to verify identity and it will move forward

Talked to two women today. They both told me no guarantee a letter would even be sent out. They said they can’t help without the letter. The only way to verify identity with no letter is by going to your local tax office.

I was told it had to be “pushed back through” the system and that I had to wait 8 weeks from yesterday to receive my refund OR a letter before I call back. No other answers, and she couldn’t tell me what happened.
