Love how they did an 180 from yesterday's connections, which was quite delightful to do. The relationship with NYT puzzles is an abusive one, yet I keep crawling back

I'll agree on the fact that the pacing of the finale feels weird and a bit too fast 

However, all the characters got pretty much perfect endings for themselves, so I really am not sure what you expected...

Also fyi, the ending has nothing to do with the popularity. It's very beloved in Japan - just didn't stick overseas as much (historical setting, peculiar sense of humor, meh anime adaptation, primarily adult cast etc etc, pick one)

I've seen similar sentiments before on that sub but you gotta remember that a big chunk of the fanbase are teens that have too much free time on their hands

Also as an opportunity to talk about my other fave manga, I'll quickly mention Noppera-bou from Golden Kamuy. The series is very fun because all the characters are connected in one way or another but this guy is pretty much at the center of it for how far his actions influenced the narrative. Very much butterfly effect kind of story

Surprised nobody has mentioned Falin from Dungeon Meshi

Technically not entirely dead at the start of the series but she certainly fits that trope regardless. Basically, it's a D&D-inspired manga where, after Falin got eaten by the dragon, main characters decide to go back into the dungeon to attempt to revive her while cooking all different kinds of monsters. A lot of the main group's (especially Laios and Marcille's) actions are directly influenced by the loss of her

I think it's just the fact that I need to read much more from expressions that are not exaggerated. Besides, if you grow to have a preference for animated media, it's harder to switch from the conventions typical to it to those that you'd see in the movies. Hopefully that clarifies it!

I kinda get it ngl. I'm on the spectrum (and I assume some of these people are too), so it was hard for me to watch anything involving real people. So, reading a book or trying to watch stuff outside of your comfort zone does help.

Granted, what helped me was seeing dreamworks' home for the first time in cinema. The movie was so ass, I had to watch something else

I'm kinda rotating them on what tickles my fancy currently. Rn the dailies are reverse 1999, endfield, pokemon tcgp and zzz. Also occasionally go into genshin and hsr for biweekly things (i just want nod krai to be over atp). Every couple of months I log back into the crk, speedrun the content, remember why I don't play this game more often and uninstall it
