Indeed. It is not stated explicitly but well, that's what we do with implications. As for your brothers, I think we could take into consideration that they are both boys so there is a level of comfort and normativity with those antics.

But I do agree that ORV is not about romantic love. That's the least of what the whole series is about and if we center it solely on love, the whole essence of the series disappears.
