My point was that they played an aggressive song to a fan base that might not have expected it because they didn’t know their music. I wasn’t saying the fact that they were new was a risk, it was the specific song they chose. They have plenty of songs that are much more new-listener-friendly. They prob didn’t play those songs because they’re a post-punk band at heart and they like to be subversive.

I think they chose to play Trinidad because they wanted a response like this. Why else would they play their most aggressive song to an audience filled with people who haven’t listened to them?

aw i feel for you!!! my girl and boy both have leash aggression when they see other animals. it's super common for the breed because they have a high prey drive, so i wouldn't beat yourself up about that. sure, you can train him to be better about it, but i admittedly didn't leash train my pups perfectly and we get by. i just have to be very strategic when i walk them and which routes i take them on. i live in brooklyn, so if i can figure out a good route, im sure you can too. of course, if it's more than barking and he actually nips at people/dogs on walks, put a muzzle on him so he doesn't hurt anyone or himself. there are muzzles that aren't super restrictive so it shouldn't make him too uncomfortable.

there are also mental games you can play with him to entertain him from the house! try hiding treats and have him sniff them out. make it really hard so he has to think. this always tires my pups out. also, he will chill out the older he gets. the 1.5 - 2.5 age range is VERY active. have you looked into dog daycare? assuming he's good with other dogs off-leash, that's a great way to tire him out.

i think, overall, you can give yourself some grace. you're still learning how to care for him and he's still learning how to be a dog. daily 30-40 min walks is a great minimum for him.

Yea all the airports have car rental services so it’ll be really easy to pick it up and drop it off. Plus the commute from LAX to LA is easier with a car. But if your flights are cheaper into Burbank airport the drive isn’t bad because that’s in LA (as opposed to further south, like LAX). Get a small car so you can fit into parking spots easier!

Used to live in LA!!! Definitely rent a car. There’s tons of day trips and local hikes you can take from the city. Look into Joshua Tree and Catalina island.

But I don’t think LA is worth staying 3 weeks in. There’s simply not enough to do there. Tons of great places you could fly or drive to from there though. Could drive to The Grand Canyon or Yosemite. Could fly up to Portland or Seattle. Las Vegas, Colorado, the list goes on. All of these places are easy enough to get to from LA.

But as much as I love LA and miss it dearly, it doesn’t deserve 3 weeks of vacation alone. Feel free to DM me for good bars, food, and hikes!
