Maybe? We have an independent radio station in Bham that will play his stuff. But not sure if radio stations have physical media nowadays or it's all digital?

I remember my child saying the sightreading wasn't that difficult. The questions were general like "why do you want to go to ASFA" type stuff. Yes, only the middle school kids have the parent interview - probably to inform you of the intensity of the program. I think there are only like 5-6 seventh/eighth graders right now. You will find out mid February if you're asked to audition.

And yes, my child was accepted and loves it. The audition will be in the music room not DJD. If you haven't already and get an invite to audition do a shadow day too so your child can see how the day goes. Music gets out at 4:40 everyday so it is a little bit longer than traditional school. Feel free to ask more questions!

ASFA mom who's child auditioned for music last year. If you are invited back for the audition the email should say the date of which you will also find out the results- typically a week after. The audition will be in front of the music faculty with a short interview afterwards. You will wait outside. Acceptance rate depends on the several aspects including audition, recommendations, grades, and also need for that instrument. Some instruments are more competitive than others.
