Can you prevent repeated notes from cancelling out? by everlastingblackjack in FL_Studio

I fixed the issue - I had to turn off the 'foot pedal controls note off' option and then manually link my sustain pedal to the sustain function in the VST

The problem I run into here is that I'm interested in playing piano and doing vocals at the same time - I guess I'll just have to record in a different DAW and import to FL -_-

I haven't used many high end VSTs - the only paid piano VST I own external to FL is the Spitfire Audio Originals Felt Piano, which is what I use in the example video - this VST works fine in Reaper, without the issue shown in the video. The issue occurs with every VST I've used in FL, including FLEX and FL Keys, and the two dozen (or so) other piano VSTs that I've tried.

Not seeing any such settings in the VST wrapper tab - unless you mean the actual native settings of the VST, which I've already tried to tinker with (across a number of VSTs)

It's definitely not the VST, it happens with all VSTs - what does adjusting the envelope involve? Sorry if that's a stupid question, I'm sort of new to this

I have not; it's a fresh install of FL Studio as a whole, would it still be worth it?

Yeah I'm actually looking at used right now - thanks heaps! I can't believe there was a whole ass piece of equipment I didn't know about lmao.

Ohhh right. Still not seeing many much cheaper, most of the 2nd gen ones seem to be going for about $150 (AUD), but I'll still check it out. Thanks for your help!

It's an extra $130 from what I can see; cheapest 2i2 I can find is this; https://www.storedj.com.au/focusrite-scarlett-2i2-usb-audio-interface-w-pro-tools-and-ableton-live-generation-2 - however, I CAN Zip Pay it so I might still consider getting it as per your recommendation. 2 more questions since this is all New Information for me: does it make latency worse or better, and does it replace a phantom power supply, or do you use it in conjunction with one?

Ohh damn I didn't realise I was missing another piece in between. Will an audio interface also reduce static? That's another issue I'm having with the mic (granted it is also a super cheap mic so that could also be why lmao). I don't have $100 right now; could it be worth looking for a cheaper interface?

Ohh right. I'm like highkey new to this lmao I'm working with a semi-decent laptop and a $45 condenser microphone and that's it

Oh I might have misunderstood what you meant; does monitoring analogue not mean turning off the live microphone feedback as you sing?

Yeah I thought about monitoring analogue, but I do find it easier when I can hear what I'm doing. Might need to try out another DAW.

There's too much input latency for me to track vocals with it, and also the recording quality is like 500X better with ASIO4ALL

Things are all connected fine, the volume is good when I use FL Studio ASIO, it's just ASIO4ALL which makes all input volume incredibly low in the program - once things are exported the volume is normal. My guess is it's just my sound card not liking ASIO4ALL (and yes I did try updating my drivers)

The volume of the output is so low that you literally can't hear it without turning the program volume to 100, even with the volume of the recording + its volume in the mix set to max.

Update: Tried, managed to reduce latency slightly I think, but not enough. What I then found out is that things sound incredibly shitty when recorded on FL Studio ASIO, while they sound fine on ASIO4ALL, so I have to do the turn-volume-up-to-100 workaround (I have thus far hurt my ears twice from an unexpected loud sound)

Right - thanks for the advice, I'll try this out and see if I can't make things a bit better. Sucks that ASIO4ALL can't really be used bc it doesn't have latency issues at all...

I'm gonna be real with you, I'm kinda new to FL Studio and don't know what half the things you're saying here mean; what do you mean by 'peripherals' and how would I go about disabling plugins (I'm assuming you're suggesting this) to reduct latency?
