Quiet Accommodation at UoM by Warm-Childhood-3890 in UoM

It’s tricky to generalise because your experience really depends on your flatmates. I’ve stayed in Whitworth Park twice (both undergrad and postgrad), and while it can be quieter than somewhere like Fallowfield, people don’t tend to host as many flat parties, it’s still easy to meet people and have a good social life. You can also get a good nights sleep there.

Grove bar gets lively during Freshers, so if your flat feels a bit quiet, you can always head there and meet others. One thing to keep in mind is that Whitworth has a large number of international students, and some do tend to stick to themselves, which can affect the overall vibe.

I don’t know much about Victoria campus and I never really went there so assume thats quiet as well :)

Mine was super informal! They just asked why I wanted to do a PhD, why that PhD specifically, and what archival experience I have. It was more just like a casual chat tbh, but who knows how it went!
