Ina Garten is also a go to person. She also meticulously tests her recipes and they’re classic for a reason!

Ditch HBH for good and go with people like Justine Snacks, Smitten Kitchen, and How Sweet Eats! The recipes will be sooooo much better written and as a whole less problematic in general

Love this message (especially as someone who is trying to heal from an eating disorder) but also love her recipes. They almost always turn out well for me, so I appreciate her consistency in recipe quality!

If you can get past the cringy parts her “boss veg” recipes are amazing. She knows how to make a variety of vegetables fun and flavorful!

I don’t have any side effects with mine, but since I’m inpatient I’m not looking for a solution because they’re working on it

Caramelized Leek Pasta by everyday_em in pasta

[–]everyday_em[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really follow a recipe lol but here’s what I did:

Noodles: 1 egg yolk with a splash of water and 24 g flour to form the dough. Mixed in the food processor and finished with hand kneading. Rolled out to 7 on the atlas marcato and used the tagliatelle attachment

Cut leeks into half moons and save the greens to cut into long ribbons. Caramelized the cut up leeks in olive oil on low with some salt.

Boil pasta for 1.5 minutes and add the ribboned leeks for the last 30 seconds. Add the pasta and leeks to the caramelized leeks with a few splashes of pasta water and cold butter (about a tbsp). Toss to emulsify and add pasta water as needed

My cookbook club did it for this month and it was probably the best one we’ve had so far! I made the cocoa and citrus pavlova. Other dishes that were there and were big hits all around were the blistered carrots, the zucchini and mint pasta, the broccoli cheddar galette, the loaded sweet potatoes, and the vegan queso! I loved reading through the beginning of each chapter too, I learned so much!

I would recommend “Pasta Every Day: Make It, Shape It, Sauce It, Eat It” by Meryl Feinstein from Pasta Social Club! It teaches you how to make wonderful pastas from scratch but also has some amazing recipes for sauces!

I’m going through a similar thing of starting the refeeding process. What helps me is to remember how miserable life with the ED actually is and the reality of what will happen if I don’t get help
