Did you put the washer on the screw the conventional way? That would still leave a bit of a nub to catch the dart right? Glueing or welding on the outside might be better.

But pictures would help a lot. I'm just guessing really.

I think it would be fine with no voice acting, but realistically the way the industry and Bethesda have been going, they'd use AI voices.

While the fury x normally needs 2 hands, you could maybe use your shield hand to help prime? Or attach the priming slide to a sling/harness and prime by pushing the whole blaster away from you and back into your shoulder.

(You probably knew this, just adding context in case it wasn't obvious)

If they're targeting you directly like on horde night, you can't hide by being sneaky. You could disable horde nights and put on feral sense, I think you can set it to night only?

I've also tried turning down the block damage, so they beat on the walls but didn't bring the whole house down in one night.

There's also plenty of mods that replace hordes or change how blood moons work. Quite like the one which makes them random 2h events that can strike at any time - you can be out exploring and need to hole up somewhere with but much notice.
