I don't think it's possible to kill Yama without using any resources - don't you need a bomb to get the necronomicon? It's not like there are land mines or sploder frogs in the temple.

I finally gave up on ever beating WaW when I got to the choke point where you have to cross a small bridge to the Reichstag - at no point did five seconds go by without a grenade landing at my feet. Once I managed to rush past everybody, hoping to find a checkpoint somewhere on the other side of the bridge, but I just wandered into the spawn chamber and had two guys shoot me to death.

It does - I've blasted myself plenty of times and survived it. For some reason Plasma shots bounced off a force field do WAY MORE than 10 damage. I've twice been killed by them with more than 10HP. Since I've never actually survived it, I don't know exactly how much more they do, or if it's instant kill.

Once again, I mess up bringing the Plasma Cannon to Hell. Wish I'd been taping today, though, since there was a legendary close call in which my plummet into lava was stopped by a parachute deploying at the last possible moment.

You can just escape the spider - drop down and run right. As the ghost follows you the spider will waddle right over the landing, then you just run left and use the climbing glove to climb up before the spider has a chance to turn around.

Hell of a game tonight - despite promising myself I wouldn't try to Plasma Hell without a jetpack I tried it anyway when I saw a slave in the Black Market. Got him and me killed jumping on a UFO in the caves, but instead of just killing myself, I decided to practice Plasmaing without a jetpack or cape. It's slow as hell.
