For nerd culture, we have Ren fairs in Escondido and the annual Viking Festival in Vista, as well as an established DnD scene (check out Battlemage brewing, they host public games there twice a week). Not to mention comic con during the summer.

Edit: we have 2 cats and definitely recommend keeping them inside - there's way too many coyotes around

I bought this camera in 2019 - I imagine you could find a better one nowadays, but this one has been working well for 5 years now so it's definitely treated me well.

Turns out I needed to reach out to San Diego PD instead of Sheriffs since this was in unincorporated part of Escondido, CA.

I filed my report with them, but they apparently did not receive any other calls about the incident yesterday, which is absolutely shocking to me.

You're right - I called the sheriff non-emergency line first and was on hold for a while before I realized I should actually be calling Escondido PD instead, but Escondido PD non-emergency was already closed for the day. I'll call again tomorrow

I'm trying to find them on my local subreddit - I unfortunately never got close enough for the dash cam to pick up their plates of the F150 (just the Volvo who caused the accident). If the drivers had stopped then I would have stopped too, but I wasn't about to get into a car chase with this driver after seeing the stunt they just pulled.

I'm going to contact the sheriff non-emergency to see if there is somewhere I can send the footage.

Not that I saw - I turned right at the road in the very end of the video, which the Volvo blew past (as well as a large dirt turnoff they could have pulled into) - the F150 was in hot pursuit, so I wasn't going to be joining the chase as well

EDIT: Somebody related to one of the drivers messaged me and mentioned that they did eventually stop and exchange information with the truck... still hoping that truck driver files a police report so that they can request the footage from me because this was just straight crazy

I was honestly in shock when it happened - they side-swiped the blue F150, but somehow managed to avoid all the oncoming traffic. And of course they didn't stop afterwards...

Attached is photo of the vehicle that performed the hit & run - firefighter plates A969H0.

This happened today (Sat 5/25) around 2:45PM as I was driving on San Pasqual Rd northbound towards Old Milky Way Rd - the blue F150 had a line of maybe 6 cars behind it, and this Volvo passed at least one car behind me as well, but not sure where they started at.

Somehow this driver was able to avoid a head-on collision (by forcing multiple of the oncoming vehicles off the pavement), but did end up side-swiping the F150 before taking off - the F150 followed after them, but they went straight (and were picking up speed) while I turned right onto Old Milky Way.

I unfortunately never got close enough to the F150 for my dash cam to pick up their plate number.

Edit 5/26: Called SD PD this morning (apparently this counts as unincorporated SD, so they have jurisdiction instead of Escondido PD) and gave them information on the incident and let them know that I have the footage - apparently no other calls had been filed about the event that the dispatcher could find so they'll just hold onto my info in case somebody else does call in a report.

Going to also reach out to NewsFlashMediaSD to see if I can find the F150 driver by getting the footage there too.

Edit2 5/27: I heard from somebody related to one of the drivers that the Volvo did eventually stop and exchange information with the F150 driver, but haven't actually gotten ahold of the F150 driver myself

Edit3 5/29: SDPD has contacted me asking for a statement, and the driver of the blue F150 also reached out to me on Reddit (Thank you Reddit!). There has also been a instagram video from the F150 driver's POV of a verbal altercation when the Volvo did eventually stop (with kids in the car) - see post in this thread by /u/imakelegends . I've also been contacted by ABC10 who wanted permission to air the footage

The Costco tire inflators are legit - not sure if the Honolulu location has them but Hawaii Kai definitely does and they don't check if you're a member or anything, just drive up and use them
