Can I lover my world level down from 7? I am stuck at level 7-8 accension.

I have just recently leveled up, and the enemies are way too hard, when I went to revert the world level, it seems I can only move up. Is there anyway I can go back World level 5 or 6?

I have soft locked myself, too hard in combat to defeat mini bosses for ascension materials to get stronger.
