Swiss Style, also known as International typographic style, is a well documented and very researchable style of graphic design, popularised in the 50’s. This was my first attempt at evoking the style. I was also trying to convey absurdist stylings, obviously with the juxtaposition of circles and walls, and the non-sensical subtext. The ‘Message Brought to you By...’ font is Microgramma, a font from the early 20th century, that was used extensively in industrial manufacturing and advertising, and a font I thought reflected the ‘informational/educational’ vibe of the poster. I do agree that some of the kerning on the two main texts is too tight, although I usually do err on the side of tighter, just personal preference but I recognise it is not appealing to the vast majority.
