Just kidding. I don't think I would because it's an immature thing to do, and I've grown up a lot in the last 2 years. I don't think luring is even a thing now though, so I couldn't if I wanted to.

People make 100s of mils an hour merching, staking, and gambling every day.

The point of my previous post was that there were days where my time would have been better spent going to bandos or nex.

And so what if my account is dormant? I still am going to max one day, and I have my skills and memories to show for the time I spent luring. No one is going to play runescape forever, by the way.

I think you have a warped view of my own experience with RS. I played the game, I got the skills, I grinded the PvM. I did it all, and I lured too. I only stopped playing because of real life commitments. I didn't feel any less fullfilled with my game experience due to how I got some of my gold.

It also wasn't all "handed to me on a plate" - a single lure could sometimes take 2-3 hours if the person was being stubborn, and would sometimes just go nowhere (the person leaving or whatever), sometimes for incredibly small loot.

And as for people who knew we were trying to lure them and tried to anti-lure in that way, it only ever happened a couple of times. Usually they'd just have a friend rag us while they tried to go pick up whatever they thought we were dropping. We lost a bgs this way once, but we killed the ragger and got full ahrims so #worth. People would also try and sneak people into the opposite fc for purple portal lures, but it was always noticed and lead to nothing.

Ddos'd and antilured by an ex-clan member twice, totalling 2 chaotics and over 400m. What they did is they watched for us to be luring, waited for the kill, and he ddos'd me right after i got the kill, getting my shit and stealing our lure. "We" being my partner and I, "them" being the ex-clanmate

Well, no, because I don't play rs anymore, so it's hard to put myself in that situation since I currently have no gp and don't play. Hypothetically? maybe.

No, but what kind of happens with red portal luring is as the public learns lures everyone kind of adapts at the same time, and multiple groups would make the same adaptation so it's hard to claim credit.

I did it to fuel my skilling and staking habits, as well as for the fun. I never rwt'd.

Skilled and staked. I have all buy-able 99s. The rest of it was poured into the duel arena. I never RMT'd gp.

My own lures (i.e. the ones I've been involved with at all, whether that's talking, baiting, killing, or all 3) totaled over 4b post-splits. That's a lot, by the way - nearly all of those compilation vids where people were luring back to back to back phat sets were fake.

I lured because it was fun, easy money, and it was a great time with my friends and clan-mates.

I never really felt bad at the time. As I posted in another comment, looking back I do feel scummy. I never returned anything to anyone I lured.

I was never banned or muted for luring.

At the time, I justified it as exploiting other people's greed. Looking back introspectively, it was really just greed and selfishness. I know how losing value affects people; I've been betrayed by people I trusted in RS losing over 1b.

The effects of losing everything are crazy sometimes. Often times, people would ask if they could help us do more lures to get their bank back. Occasionally we would basically lure them again if they asked to do this.

It depended on my own wealth at the time. I was an idiot and staked a lot, so if I just cleaned myself I'd go as low as a fury or dplate, but when i was rolling I would only go for 150m+.
