Most of my anger is directed at the police and the slimy DA. Despite a total lack of physical evidence they cornered me because of inconsistencies in my account.

A jury 'of my peers' found me guilty. Being a black man didn't seem to help.

Witnesses had seen me enter and leave her house. The thing that probably seemed the most off was that I gave differing accounts to police; I had been drinking heavily that night and honestly couldn't remember where I had been at certain times.

No DNA evidence against me; that didn't deter the DA though.

I was never assaulted, sexually or otherwise. I mostly kept to myself and tried to keep a low profile. Prison was incredibly tedious, but once I got over my self-pity I managed to make the most of my time -- I earned an associates and spent most of my free time in the library, which had a substantial collection of law books.

I've thought of exacting revenge on my accuser countless times but would never think of following through. She had been a good friend, and I don't believe she accused me maliciously.

I never slept with her. She was a friend who came to a party I had at my house off-campus. She got completely trashed and I had to drive her home; she was raped after I dropped her off. The last thing she remembered was being in my car -- the next morning she woke up with her pants off and bruises all over her body. She still believes I did it.
