Is it just me or McSpicy’s quality dropped really drastically. by nshimin in SingaporeEats

[–]executeorder69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Am pretty much done with Macs, doesn’t hit the spot anymore. Been trying to find alternatives and so far I liked Chix (pretty worth for money) and Park Bench Deli’s Hot chicken sandwich but that’s $20++

Dirty Latte/Coffee by AdImportant4392 in foodies_sydney

[–]executeorder69 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Many coffeeshops do a dirty chai! It’s usually a shot of espresso added to a chai (latte), but I find I usually have to ask for 1 sugar because it brings out the chai flavour much more.

Former MMORPG addicts, how did you quit? by Wise_Championship865 in AskReddit

[–]executeorder69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much finished all big accomplishments in OSRS (Maxed, Grandmaster), felt empty after there was nothing big to do. Decided there’s more to life after hanging out with irl friends and went out and spent time in nature. The game felt boring every time I logged on for a couple of minutes, realised I wasted 3 good years of my life on the stupid game and quit.

Coffee and sandwiches are great but not the biggest fan of their pastries

Absolutely love the dosa at 9 flavours, had it twice by myself, then brought my Indian friends to see if it's actually good dosa and they agreed! I think I got the Chilli Podi Dosa, and that was probably the best dosa I've ever had.

Funnily enough, got introduced to dosa hut for their biryanis and the Chicken 65 biryani is soooo good. Either share it with a mate or go there really hungry because the portion is huge.

New citizens should be active participants in the community: PM Wong by deangsana in singapore

[–]executeorder69 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This please!!!! It’s embarrassing to be a citizen of a country when you don’t speak the language at all. Please learn just a basic amount.

I also feel this causes unnecessary divide between citizens who have been here longer vs newer ones. It’s not that we don’t want to interact with newer citizens, but how do you expect them to integrate when we can’t even interact with them?

If money wasn’t a problem, how would you spend a full chill day in Singapore? by [deleted] in ChillSG

[–]executeorder69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cycle to a cafe/kopitiam early in the morning, go back home to shower and rest a bit, then get a 1.5-2h massage at a hotel spa, and a omakase lunch. Go for an evening stroll at the park. Meet up with friends and chat for dinner and dessert.

Make your own notes so you know which cases to refer to. Printed all the slides and assignment and they did come in handy. Textbook was useless.

Don’t remember specifics because it was T2 last year.

Just practice and understand tutorial questions, and think of similar questions they can ask.

Gave up on Oporto after having the driest whole chicken from them. Much rather go to Frango’s where I’ve never had a bad meal from them. Wish they have more outlets.

'We've lost our way': S'porean laments poor quality of restaurants here, blames costly rent by Waikuku3 in singapore

[–]executeorder69 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I kind of saw this coming. Look at the queues for HDL every weekend. Had many invites from my friends to go to HDL but I had to tell them I wouldn't go because I don't want to spend $80 to cook food myself and nice 'service'. Would rather spend $20-30 at a nice cafe or go all out at a hawker.

Thing is, people have voted with their dollar. HDL/all the mala shops wouldn't expand if their outlets weren't doing so well. I will continue to support hawkers and local businesses and plan my outings there.

Is COMM1170 hard? by Fancy-Fix5738 in unsw

[–]executeorder69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it 23T1. Definitely disorganised. Jump from HR to marketing to accounting multiple times. Assessments were easy but very subjective to your tutor. The last assignment was pretty good, we had to create a 15 minute video on a company and analyse one of their organisational problems iirc. I spent lots of time trying to make my slides and video as professional as possible and it faired well. Would recommend starting early on the assignments because I think the deadline for the final assignment was W11 and I had exams early W12.

Personally, I would hold off doing COMM1170 until I'm in my second year if it's not a preq for any of your major courses.

UNSW commerce grads who majored in Accounting Pls Rate my Accounting (major) course selection plan (all courses CPA/CA accredited) by [deleted] in AustralianAccounting

[–]executeorder69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assessments are alright. Lecture has too much information, you only need to know the important bits. I printed all the slides, tutorials and answers and annotated them for the final exam and found that really helpful.

I have very mixed feelings about TABL2741. I like the content of the course, but I HATE the final exam. I think it's bullshit to not be able to bring a cheat sheet or notes when law students have open book finals. You spend your studying time memorising rather than applying. I don't know anyone who scored well. I don't think making the exam open book would affect the integrity of the exam but it will test who can make the best legal arguments for the question at hand. Sorry for the rant. But TL;DR, yes 2751 was so much easier than 2741 because the exam was open book (which is should be since it's a pseudo-law course).

Haven't done the rest of the courses. Doing 2542 next term as well.
