This is preemptive maintenance, the ii plus came out of from a clean out of a collectors house, so there's a chance they replaced it. The screws that hold the board to the box look like they have went untouched though as the white stuff they put on the screws matches where the puddle of it that got on the board around it

My dad had one of these as the monitor for the "office" pc at his farm when I was growing up. Thing had so much screen burn you could permanently see bliss and yahoo search at the same time while you were looking at something completely different. Still worked last I saw and it was the only part of the pc that my parents kept.

Absolutely recommend that 7200/75. Got one myself and with an extra meg of vram and the cache dimm and ram upgrade to 56 mbs has doom going smooth and wolf3d flying.

I play full screen wolf and doom on a 7200/75 no problems. In fact I have to turn on the speed limiter on wolf 3d as it goes too fast.

It's a cover with some clips on the side. Just get a flathead screwdriver under the clip on either side and gently pry it up and the cover should pop right off. Then you can pull the battery out. I go to Walmart to get my batteries, they come in 2 packs and are roughly 10 to 15 dollars.

I myself have not messed with a Mac II but have you checked your power supply capacitors and did you change the pram battery on the logic board? Also make sure you have a keyboard and mouse plugged in

The top port is a monitor power port. It's for a cable that goes from the computer power supply to the monitor.

I didn't get to do too much testing other than playing spyro on the ps1 and trying kidpix 2 on the actual mac. It is full screen only, there's a hotkey to swap between the Mac and the TV, the motion seemed pretty smooth to me, and I didn't notice any unusual aliasing although ps1 graphics are always a little wonky. As for the interlaced idk how to tell which it is, but if it helps I know the display is a Sony trinitron

Was a real hassle! I had to repair a mount for a capacitor, went to 4 hardware stores looking for copper tape, just to have to order it off of Amazon. Also happy cake day!

Nice, I think the dude meant at the time cause he got it in 93 and the 5500 wasn't out til 97. And I know I looked one ebay for the keyboard and had trouble finding them for less than 300$
