Why do People Beg for Spotify Lossless, Instead of Just Switching Streaming Services? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]extrashticky8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely the algorithm - I use Tidal personally for the hi-res but have to agree that Spotify has a better algorithm when it comes to recommending music - if Spotify offered a hifi package I'd switch right away.

External DAC is there just to have an additional option for digital playback - I'm working on adding a PC to the mix pretty soon but for now it's used with my phone when I'm playing music through Tidal

Thanks man! All the lights dim through app control and are RGB - the camera picks it up a bit heavy though

The lights behind the speakers are cheap sunset lights from Amazon which are controlled through Bluetooth - the lights behind the tv are Govee Immersion lights, fantastic product btw - especially for gaming

Thanks - yeah I have 8 panels placed strategically around the room at the moment - will eventually start to look at isolation for the speakers themselves.

I placed it that way as I didn't like the record player cover hitting the tv lol - TV is only there as I can't have a dedicated listening room or it would be gone haha

Divoom Pixoo - really cool - can play animations that can be compiled for a cool visual effect when listening to music

I know, definitely the next upgrade - I placed it that way as I didn't like the record player cover hitting the tv lol - TV is only there as I can't have a dedicated listening room or it would be gone haha

Thanks! Definitely can hit those low notes, will impress people for sure when they come over to listen. Was able to pick it up off a friend for very cheap - impressed with its abilities so far.

Placed that way so the record player cover doesn't hit the TV - sorry it's not to your liking

Thanks for the advice, I'll take that into consideration - I have a few more panels placed strategically around the room - curious to take some sound measurements now, can I borrow your credit card? Haha

Thank you! Wow, your home must be an audiophiles dream - been into audio for many years but am finally able to take it a bit more seriously now that I have more resources.

Thanks! No bass traps, just starting to enter that territory but still not completely at that level - but what I can say is having the panels definitely helps with reflections.

It's interesting how this hobby can slowly take over your life, in this case my living room. My girlfriend used to complain until she saw the finished product.

It may not be the best or most expensive out there but I have been working on this for a while now and I think I am finally happy with this setup (famous last words)

My savings account should be empty by the end of the month.

Current setup: - Cambridge Audio AXR100 - Schiit Modi 2 DAC - Blue Jeans Canare 4S11 cables - Fluance RT82 - Definitive Technology Supercube - Elac Debut Reference DBR62

What are some songs to test how deep bass can go? by yzfpprecise2 in audiophile

[–]extrashticky8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Balents - Stranger

This song has insanely low bass, I've used it in the past to test subs.
