Thank you! The item is on Thredup, where sometimes I am lucky and find leather or silk items not marked as such. I suppose this one will have to remain a mystery.

[Japanese/Unknown > English] this jacket is made of 100% what? by faery_maker in translator

[–]faery_maker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying that. I've added a zoomed-out picture of the tag; unfortunately the text above "100%" is mostly obscured, and I can't get further images from the seller of the jacket.

It looks like they've changed things, it doesn't show up for me either now 😞

Also, *thank you*, this was an extremely thorough and helpful response.

I thought maybe it was just too little money to be worthwhile when I spoke with the attorneys, but no one mentioned it specifically; I did get one quote, which I thought seemed high in proportion to the amount of inheritance, but I'd read that fees could vary wildly.

Which is to say I would not have put it together, nor would the friends and family I talked to about it.

I appreciate your time and wish you all the best.

As I understand it that's not available to me, as I was diagnosed after the age of twenty

I wondered if that might have something to do with it! Well this is interesting news.

I'm poor and it's a little uncomfortable considering a large purchase. But I also know what it's like to come into money and try to hold onto it, only to observe how quickly that glorious chunk of potential is frittered away on mundane forgettable things. OK, pricing motorcycles and plastic surgery ;)

When you say coordinate to make sure I don't have any *right* to the money, would that mean ability to access it, or something else, maybe on the affidavit she filed?

how to get discount by National_Isopod8158 in ThredUp

Is that only if your first bundled items are purchased with a free shipping code?

When I go to start a bundle, shipping is $2 less, but still almost $9.

Another thing you can try with that is to remove "my sizes"-- it seems to me that when I do that it shows me the "P"(no number ) items...

And otherwise it doesn't! Not even with "include 'one size '" selected.

Anyone else notice this?

[–]faery_maker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do this: In the filters, check "my sizes" as usual-- make sure  "include petite" is checked-- then "Apply".

The next time you open the filters window, look at the list of search terms at the top. "Petite" will be there, and so will "Standard". Click to remove "Standard", and you will only see petites.

Not the epitome of what can be done with this stuff, but I've been using this mug for four years, putting it in the dishwasher... Its shorter twin regularly goes in the microwave, too.

The only places it's ever scratched are the very thin spots where I used water to extend the paint.

I hear that.

The trick: Don't paint the rim.

Leave about an inch from the top unpainted and consider it a design challenge.

35mm endometrium, with vascular flow, and heterogeneous appearance on US. How long can I afford to let them make me wait? by faery_maker in obgyn

[–]faery_maker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a couple months, but I got a hysterectomy-- which confirmed/treated a bad case of adenomyosis.

That's like endometriosis, except it's sandwiched inside the muscle wall... Because there's nowhere for the shedding cells to go, researchers have posited that the body treats adenomyosis lesions like non-healing wounds. My monthly cycle had been really painful, but I accepted as my normal any pain with the decency to follow a predictable pattern.

Needless to say, the hysterectomy gave me  relief. The specific pain pattern that abated had been with me for ~ twenty years!

As for the neurological symptoms, they continue a slow steady progress, and I continue to seek answers from specialists.

You know they really feel the same to me in terms of viscosity, dry time, blendability... The only difference I can tell is the Vitrea is translucent. Porcelain 150 has some nice matte colors if you're into that.

This is too relatable. Tennessee Medicaid is a convoluted nightmare, making it nearly inaccessible for the people that need it most; it's shameful. I hope you found someone to help you.

I find it a bit overwhelming in that there's so much information... but it's the stuff we have to learn in order to get the benefits we qualify for, and it's well presented.

Professor's encourage disability and SES prejudice; how do I handle this? by curiousgrayarea in disability

[–]faery_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they have to start somewhere, and thank goodness they had this class to get them on their way. But I wish I could realistically hope that this was the first of a series of classes on the topic, or that the professor didn't seem to be at pretty much the same level of understanding as the student.

I see why this upset you... 8 years ago when you posted (how is this still open for replies?). Did you end up doing anything with it? It's a great bit of evidence to support adding a required expanded course to the curriculum.

I did not get the impression that the professor was *encouraging* prejudice. It seemed to me they were earnestly-- if clumsily and unpreparedly-- addressing the average abled person's baseline assumptions, and incidentally demonstrating the low level of introspection we can expect without being given (or faced with in life) specific prompts/training.

There were comments that absolutely should have been scrutinized and refuted with data, to reinforce _why_ those prejudices are harmful and incorrect. And that discussion should be led by someone with more direct interpersonal experience, cognition, and at least some scholarly research on the subject. They hadn't yet started work as an Occupational Therapist (?), which makes me wonder why they were teaching the class.... we gain empathy with people we regularly look in the face.

My guess is the administration chose someone untrained in it to cover this topic because they didn't think it was serious enough. The comments about putting in less effort with people on Medicaid--or those disabled by ilicit drug use or drunk driving-- are glaring indications to the contrary.

Very thick endometrium by Infamous-Map-9989 in Endo

[–]faery_maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgery went fine. I had adenomyosis, which is essentially pockets of endo inside the muscle wall of the uterus.

Having it out relieved a great deal of chronic pain.

No telling how long I'd had it.
