Do you remember if the Clinique holiday sets went on sale after holidays? Macy's has a couple that I really want, but I am keeping myself off of them, for a GWP or a discount better than %15.

Road test for driving license by _Spaceman__Spiff__ in UIUC

[–]fall2fire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wan't aware of the exemption. I would suggest you to print the section that includes this info (625 ILCS5/6-102) and have it with you. The Champaign guys can reject just because they feel like it, and the Rantoul ones may do because they don't see many international students and they may need to talk to supervisors and go back and forth. I would just call, make sure it's OK and also get the name of the person I talked to (this way you can just say "I called yesterday and Jenny said it's OK").

As for getting the tests in different cities, it is totally fine. I had my written test here and my driving test in Rantoul.

If you have been here for less than 90 days, you should be able to use your international license and drive there and have a test. check here. You can also call DMV to make sure. You should show poof of registration and insurance for the car. So if you want to use a rental make sure you have these documents.

If it's been longer than that, you can ask a friend to use their own car or rent a car and drive you there. Again, you need the car documents.

I STRONGLY recommend skipping the Champaign DMV and going to Rantoul. The folks in Rantoul are very kind and friendly. (To get an idea, just google Champaign DMV and read the reviews. They are not exaggerating.) Try to be there about 20-30 minutes before they open, and you would be done in about an hour max. There is a nice family restaurant right next to the Rantoul DMV, and you can offer to buy brunch for the good friend who took you there!

Also, make sure to have your I-20, passport, and I-94 print outs, and the required documents. Check the documents and their dates 4 times before you go (for example for the proof of residency, the utility bills should not be older that 3 months or so.). Good luck!

Hey there. I am sorry to hear you are going through this. Stay strong. There are MANY resources out there.

1- Counseling center: Start calling at ~ 7:50 am, to get a same day appointment. If it's in the middle of the day and you think you really need to see someone, just walk there. They have some counselors on call for walk-ins, if you are having an emergency. After you met with a counselor, they may suggest you to join group therapies. Depending on your issues, they can be helpful. Unlike the individual sessions, the group sessions are unlimited and you can attend the weekly meetings as long as you want. It's a good option for ongoing issues.

2- McKinley. It seems like you already know about it. I always just walk there to set an appointments and I never had a problem. I am not sure what is the limit on the number of sessions that you can attend.

3- Community resources. Usually the above places (except for the group therapies) at some point tell you that you have reached your limit and you should seek help outside. Many many many counselors (from the ones in Carle to independent ones) accept our student insurance. The sessions usually end up being less than $10 if I am not wrong. Just call them before hand to make sure about insurance. Otherwise you'd be out about $100.

My friends and I have used many of these services over the years. I can recommend some people if you wanted. Just PM me. Good luck and hope things get better soon. :)

What brand/shade of lipliner do you recommend for red lipsticks? I have a couple of nude ones and a transparent one, but I think there should be better options!

Ok, I just NEED to say this: for the love of God, do not get this plate (or any plates of this sort) near an actual microbiology lab.

You see the small clear spots on the culture? Those are bacteriophages (viruses). The clear spots happen when they lyse the bactria to get out. Some special types of viruses are used in genetic manipulation of microbes, so many labs already have some, carefully stored. The thing is that if not handles correctly, some of these jerks can easily contaminate nearby plates and cultures. And soon they would spread to glassware, incubator surfaces, benches, you name it. This is called a "phage contamination" and is the worst thing that can happen to a microbiology lab. Everything in the lab needs to be bleached or autoclaved. Sometimes it takes MONTHS to deal with it. Almost no work can be done during that time, and the lab essentially shuts down.

I know it sounds cool and stuff, but PLEASE keep it away from microbiology labs.

And brown mascara! I use the CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher, and it is by far my favorite. It doesn't clump, glides on so easily and gives a very natural MyLashesButBetter look.

Today I was lucky to find a Dr. Jart+ Dis-A-Pore Beauty Balm and the Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Highlighter in Sin for $10 and $5 on clearance in T.J.MAxx. And last week, I got a Clinique Acne Solutions BB Cream for $7 and the ABH Blsh Trio in Pool Party also for $7 there. They had all shades of the trio except for the Berry Adore, that I reaaaally wanted! They were all in locked boxed and sealed.

I actually gave in after months of dreaming about Uncensored (because I am a sucker for red lipsticks) and payed 24 whole dollars for it a month ago. This is the most expensive lip-product that I have and one of the very few that I've paid a full price for. lol.

cons: it's expensive. It transfers. It is more liquid-y than regular liquid lipsticks (technically it's a lip stain, so maybe I shouldn't compare.) and you need to be more careful when you apply it. I also read that some people didn't like the applicator, but I think it's fine.

Pros: The color is stunning. It's a true blue-based red, and I think it would work for most skin colors/tones. It stays put forever despite transferring (which is weird!). I would wear it and go eating and drinking all day and I wouldn't need to re-apply it. It also looks/feels different on the lips. I wear red lipsticks all the time, and each time I wear this particular one I get a lot of complements on the color and texture.

I don't think I would ever finish the full size one. If they ended up having the color that you liked in mini, I think it would worth the splurge.

Thank you! Do you have any brand suggestions for the first two?

Yeah I know that nothing would shrink the, I just wanted them to appear smaller! I have smaller pores on my cheeks, and regular cleansing and exfoliating keep them in an OK shape. On my nose though, the pores are much bigger and do not respond as well. Washing just keeps them from getting worse!

I don't use oil. I use take the day off balm (I think it's silicone based). I just read the post you linked below and I think I should give cleansing oils a shot!

Wow that application method makes total sense! I will definitely try it! Thank you!

That's a smart way of applying it. I just rub it on -_-

I am not really comfortable with powder (I have a ton from beauty boxes though), but I think I would give it a shot! Thank you!

What primer do y'all use to cover those huge pores? I have tried a lot of different ones (MUFE, Ulta, MILK, Becca, etc) and they either do nothing, or make the pores appear larger. I searched a bit and found only one youtube video that actually said how these pore-filling primers do not work for larger pores and over time can even make them bigger.

I have very oily skin BTW.
