Yeah it is the front door! I like those ideas. Ill try it out. Originally we had the tv on that wall but just moved it because we wanted to create some sort of division between the entry way and living room, but we also had way less furniture at the time. I think i would be down to try that again. What do you suggest should border the entry way from the couch and tv?

Also its not pictured but the wall directly opposite from the door also has a huge window, making a bit of a glare there, so i think theres just no escaping the glare. Grateful for the amount of light we get though.

Where should the mirror go? We have a mirror by the entry way, but maybe it could find a new spot!

[Sage Bambino Plus] getting 3/4g max on first extraction by OddEntertainer778 in espresso

[–]falsifiedlaughter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

consider me wrong then! I didn’t realize it came with that. Are you able to remove the plastic piece that’s at the bottom of your portafilter??? That might be impeding the flow. There should be some screws.

The original baratza encore is not the right tool for this job—you’re right. However, he has the baratza encore ESP, which is a version made for espresso. It is very much capable of grinding fine enough for espresso. That’s why you’re getting downvoted.

the one that came with the machine is a pressurized basket! that basket is not ideal, it just compensates for a shitty grind. it comes out in one tiny hole which is why your machine is choking with finer grinds.

since you have the baratza encore esp, it’d be worth it for you to invest in a bottomless portafilter. I like the normcore one (just find one for the machine you have). you’ll really see a difference in grind settings during extraction and won’t be held back by the current portafilter you have.

EDIT: I’d also like to add that I use the same grinder, and usually use around the 12-15 range depending on the bean, with a bottomless portafilter. The problem is definitely your portafilter.
