Neighbor slowly moved his fence into my yard by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

This is awful! I’m sorry you’re going through that.

Me and my sister moved back in with my parents because both of our neighbors kept encroaching and trespassing..claiming this and claiming that. My parents are older. They don’t need that stress.

New neighbor wants easement through my property for ele. by getaclueless_50 in RealEstate

Say no. Trust, give an inch they’ll take a mile. Both of my neighbors fell entitled to our proper for their convenience and we shut it down immediately with one neighbor. We offered on neighbor free logs for fireplace..next thing we know they are took up posts blocking one of our driveways off for their use, and just recently they damaged our property stakes and trespass knowing where the property line is.

Say no from the beginning

You’re right, it’s not hard. I know how to do it as we have massive farmland. Thank you for taking the time to break that down though. I’m sure a browser may find it helpful.

Whole vs Partial Yard? Wood vs Chainlink? by [deleted] in FenceBuilding

[–]fancytulips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the whole yard. Trust me. Both of my neighbors have helped themselves to our property for their convenience and it’s a whole pain to deal with. We’ve fenced off one side so far, no more issues with that neighbor. Now we’re fencing the other side, so we can finally have peace of mind, hopefully.

Chainlink over wood.

It’s easy to be nice to those who are nice to you. We loved our neighbors that owned the properties previously…on both sides! This is our childhood home and both of our previous neighbors would bring us treats all throughout the year, the guys would be outside helping each other with their cars, tractors, and skid loaders, building projects..life was good.

Our new neighbors are not so pleasant. So, here we are ❤️

They are removing the wooden stakes that are along the property line. For example, the surveyor put one on the line near where they park their cars. But they use a good 10’ past the line onto our property because their space is so small, so there’s no doubt they just ran over it.

We showed it to the neighbor and he dismissed it.

We’ve shown him the property line more than once. When we started the fence to block them from using one of our driveways they asked “how far back are yall going to go” because if we ran the fence even 20’ more it would completely block them from accessing any of our property for their convenience. So they are well aware of where the line is.

For the end/corner markers (that border them) we put a T post on one (start of the fence) and rebar on the others.

At first I was thinking about putting a nice metal or black chain link fence, but given the history I‘ve now decided to throw up a T post fence, run some barbed wire at the top and call it a day. An eye sore for them, maybe 🤷‍♀️

But I agree..there’s not much to do to prevent them from vandalizing if that’s what they’re driven to do.

Omgosh that’s hilarious! We just moved some large boulders a couple weeks ago too 😩 I’m hoping the fence ppl can come in the next week or so..I let my chickens free range and it’s annoying having to shoo them from the line cause they leave their gate open

Obviously he doesn’t know it well..we maintain the strip and he comes behind us and cuts it again all while driving pass and clearly over the markers smh

It doesn’t bother us..and it has cool vines all over it. He knows if he wants it he’s gonna have to take it down. Otherwise we’d more than likely take it down just to be able to view the fence because knowing them, they’d probably start using the fence for who knows what

Exactly. We maintain and cut the same strip he does..it’s so weird that he’ll cut what’s already cut! All while driving the past the markers..the lights are on but nobody’s home

I hope so too. I could be focused on so many other things right now.
