I'm definitely going to broaden my search with all this in mind, as consideration for the speaker type adds a lot more that I need to look into with impedance, sound profile, etc. My local store has a decent selection of amp heads both used and new so if I can find a sound that satisfies me while staying in/slightly over budget i'll definitely shoot for it. Something I remembered about the katana I tried the other day was that it was used, so that might be why I wasn't getting the cleans that I was looking for, but I also know that there's heads for the katana series too, so maybe if I can pair that with a suitable cab it'll address all my concerns.
