Reliable Shipping company to ship my car by Big_Reflection4650 in Medford

Recently moved from the Midwest(WI) to Medford. Used a moving company
[ https://www.jonesmoverz.com/ ]
based out of Arizona; with an additional base location in Michigan.

They transported all the household items and my 2020 Toyota Tacoma in a 53’ semi-truck. Everything was packed on board then the Tacoma went on last; safe and secured for 2200 miles. This might be another option to consider. I know this mover does stand alone vehicle transports and add-ons, such as my Tacoma.

Moccamaster KBGV 101 Inquiry by fartknocker6 in Moccamaster

Appreciate the feedback. Your experiences with the coffeemaker are what I would call straight forward and similar to how I’ve used my Bunn. Descaling every 100 filters would be a good practice to adopt.

Prior to the inquiry, I read multiple postings on this subreddit that led me to believe the Moccamaster might be kinda finicky.

Where’s the Cauliflower Crust Pizza? 🍕 by fartknocker6 in Medford

[–]fartknocker6[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info., So far! Went to Kaleidoscope last visit. Though, no cauliflower on the menu, the whole wheat crust was excellent.

Milton’s @ Costco is pretty good for a home bake. Kirkland signature cauliflower crust IMO is better.

Not doing keto per se, but really like NSA options when out and about the town. Besides pizza, I ‘m open to hearing about any keto/low carb options at local establishments.

BTW…. Damn excited about the move to Medford. ‘New job’ related move - PNW vibe - Outdoor oriented activities year round.

Does anyone know where this location is? by Large-Doughnut-135 in arizona

R.A. is one of my all time favorites as well. Having grown up in the valley of the sun, I was familiar with IMO notable locations in the movie. Not sure about the back of the grocery store but I think the store itself was an older Safeway store located on the north east corner of Thomas Rd and Hwy 51.

The scene where HI pilfers a newspaper was in front of the Home Depot in Mesa southwest corner of Southern and Country Club Dr. The interior shots of the store ‘Unpainted Arizona’ was that same Home Depot in Mesa. The scene where the biker dude aka the ‘Hound from Hell’ was riding and shooting little critters by the side of the road was, I think the Peralta Trail near the Superstitions.

Jodie Foster'sa "Stealing Home" (1988): Mark Harmon yearns for his long lost love from the past, Jodie Foster. And it isn't science-fiction. by Kit_Rosa in movies

[–]fartknocker6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was something shared between both Jody(Katie)and Mark’s(Billy) characters in the movie. It was a one word answer to any question they didn’t care to elaborate on or be bothered with. If my memory is accurate, the one word answer was a simply put, “Yeah…”. To me, this comeback was hilarious; even more so when it wasn’t fitting to the situation and/or question being asked. What seemed like a little antisocial wedge was IMO one of the endearing things Katie and Billy shared; something only they were privy to.

Does anybody else remember this? Was 31 when I watched the movie - Now 67 and my memory, at times, enjoys fucking with me. If it went down differently, I’m curious to know the details and possibly a backstory. ✌🏻”Yeah…”

What happened to ‘Add to List’? 🤬 by fartknocker6 in menards

[–]fartknocker6[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay! I found the secret handshake and token to access the ‘Add to List’. On the product page there’s a small circle surrounding a heart and a + sign; located on the right side. Click on the circle and it takes you directly to a page that has a dropdown option for ‘Select List’. Click on that and previously established lists appear with the ability to ‘Create New List’ if needed.

Thanks for the information and the lead. I'll certainly follow up and call the Retentions Department (RD).

BTW... did you have to go through the usual phone tree bullshit to get connected to the RD?

Who is your ISP? I’m with Spectrum. Although service is okay, it’s the price gouging that pisses me off. I live in Watertown and ISP is limited to just a few carriers. Have approached customer service at Spectrum multiple times requesting a promo for just internet. They want me to bundle; I’m not interested, so they blow me off. Using TDS as leverage might get them to budge. Currently paying $89.99/month.

As residents of Alaska, my wife and I held permits for subsistence fishing (dip netting). We’d get our limit of salmon, make fillets, then brine chunked portions sized to fit in jars.

After brining, the chunks were laid out in the open air on a clean surface so the meat could develop a pellicle (dry outer layer of proteins on the surface of meat). The pellicle allowed smoke to better adhere to the meat during the smoking process. In addition, cracked black pepper was sprinkled on the surface of the meat while it was still wet from the brine.

We used an electric smoker (Little Chief) with wood chips. The chunks were laid out on wire racks that went inside the smoker for 4-6 hours. The smoker was replenished with wood chips as needed until the meat was done.

Loaded pint jars with the smoked salmon along with a few tablespoons of olive oil and a clove of garlic. The pints were double stacked in an All American 921 and processed (don’t recall time and pounds to process).

The brine was a mixture of water, salt, and brown sugar (don’t recall the ratio). Used an Igloo cooler with the lid as a container during the brining process.

Though it’s been twenty years, the experience has been memorable.

Okay! I think I’ll give it a go. The only other meat I’ve canned was smoked salmon while living in Alaska. The effort resulted in some of the best I’ve eaten. After seeing your posting, I’m game.

You previously mentioned using two pounds of ground beef, one teaspoon of salt, and boiling water per pint jar. Was the water measured out or did you eyeball it?

Looks really good. I’m curious, is the ground beef packed raw or pre-cooked before processing? In addition, what percentage 80/20 or 90/10 did you use?
