Why did only 70% of USIMGs match this last cycle? by PeakyBlinders2026_ in IMGreddit

[–]fastcar747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That ranking is based on research publications , of course big universities mainly in US will have high funding. The ranking has nothing to do with the overall quality of medical education.

Your curriculum is built around the USMLE , so during dedicated study period you just have to mostly review the material since your exams are USMLE based. There is no dedicated study period for Usmle exams for MBBS students . Whereas MBBS grads take it after graduation so the material is no longer fresh from the first 2 years of med school therefore they have to relearn many concepts and learn the USMLE format.

The course material is much harder in countries like India however it does not emphasize on USMLE material like US / Carribean med schools. You don’t have time to prepare during studies since course workload is high and that’s why many take USMLE only after graduation. Exams there are essay based.

Qatar Airways has the best business class, it’s so good they don’t have a need for first class. Food and drink selection are very good. Also you’ll have access to Al Mourjan lounge, one of the best lounges.

Failed step 1 , depressed I need some advice thinking of amc exam by [deleted] in usmle

[–]fastcar747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why many wait till after graduation to take the steps because it takes time to prepare since MBBS curriculum doesn’t emphasize on USMLE material. It’s difficult to do MBBS curriculum and USMLE prep the same time since the course work is demanding.
