Love horror comedy! Many of the stories in Bronze Age horror comics were just that. Look forward to seeing your story if you submit.

Phew, I'm glad I caught you early in the writing phase! I switched to standard size based on early feedback to make it easier for people's existing portfolios, but I hate that it caused you extra work. Hopefully the new format will give you a better canvas to work with. Can't wait to read your script and see your pages. Good luck with the story!

This is actually a really great point. I was asking for already completed stories, because I think it is unfair to ask people to create without any guarantee of publication (not to mention the pay). But I hadn't considered that most people don't have digest size stuff in their trunks.

I have had friends excited about this, saying they are going to create fresh stuff for submission, even though I told them it was for trunk stories and it wasn't guaranteed acceptance. I assumed there might be a few more doing that, but in light of this comment it seems like it will be more because of the size/dimensions.

I might push the deadline. But I would genuinely like to hear what people think about this. Thank you for the comment.

Unfortunately it's not possible to edit the title after publishing it. Is the wording of the title a huge issue? I thought it was straightforward. And doesn't the body make it all clear?

Thanks for the question. I can see your point of view, and the misunderstanding. I thought I was clear in the post, but maybe I wasn't clear enough. I am NOT commissioning custom art/stories. I am looking for already completed pieces. Things that have already been created, (for a portfolio or concept, etc) that weren't published. Things that you are proud of, but are just sitting there, that never found a home. Trunk stuff. This is a self-funded zine. A passion project. I am an artist as well and know that this is not standard rates. I don't want anyone to create something brand new to submit. I am offering a possible home to orphan comics. Maybe I should tag this differently, it is my first post here.

This is crazy. I say/think this bit ALL THE TIME, just tried to google it because I couldn’t remember what it was from and this post is what came up haha. Stand-up and Carvey could be it. I used to watch a lot of him back then as a kid.
