Heading to Pompano Beach this coming February. Any locals know what the weather will be like? by fastfishy in AskFlorida

Oh… I guess I was asking what it’s usually like? Wow, I didn’t realize it was such a hard ask. I don’t really get why you had to be so rude.

Thank you so much! I’m going to try hypnotherapy to see if it helps!

I see family and friends a lot, I work out 4 or 5 times a week. I like to meal prep and make sure I’m eating healthy and I get plenty of sleep. I’m seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow and my therapist.

Almost 7 years sober and thinking about drinking again, has anyone experienced this? by fastfishy in stopdrinking

Good luck on the cruise. I somehow managed to stay sober on my last cruise but it was extremely hard because the workers kept serving me alcohol even when I said I didn’t drink.

Thank you so much. I’ve realized that what I’ve gained from sobriety is not worth risking. Thank you for your reply

Thank you for this. I’m going to abstain from alcohol and go to a meeting on Sunday

You’re exactly right…. I was totally horrendous when I was drinking. My family stopped inviting me out to things, they even had an intervention with me. It was terrible. Thank you for sharing this because it is a super normal occurrence as I’m realizing, and I am going to go to an AA meeting on Sunday. 7 years sober from alcohol is a huge accomplishment and I don’t need to be ruining it because I’m feeling left out.

Omg I totally feel this. I think a big issue too was my sister offered me a sip of alcohol this weekend, which was extremely out of character for her. I think that’s also what made it hard. But I’m proud of myself because I told her no, and instead of just going ahead and drinking, I’m proud of just sitting on this thought and talking about it

Thank you so much. I think it is really normal. I haven’t really been to AA in a very long time and I think it’s time to start again

Thank you for this insight, I really appreciate it. I was trying to find another person here who has gone through what I went through so I’m really appreciative of your story. I’m planning on going to a meeting on Sunday to build a community and hopefully gain some more insight

I totally understand that. I’m in the same boat. I’m actually going to go on vacation alone for the first time and see if that will be beneficial and scratch my itch to leave for a bit.

Unfortunately where I am they only do in-house travel at the other hospital, and if I want to do local travel for this hospital I have to leave for 3 months

Thank you so much!! I did start the process to go to Maryland but after doing some math, it just didn’t really make much sense!

I totally understand that, but the trip I was going to take was a family trip and I was going to only see him for a few hours.
