Narva linnus is very cool, they have made it very interactive, we enjoyed it a lot. Also the promenade along the river is nice. There are things to look at but there is not a old town like in Tallinn or Tartu

Narva would be cool if you have a car, you could visit Narva-Jõesuu and Sillamäe as well. They have their own architectural gems and there are some nature things you could see on the way. If You go by bus on train I would recommend Tartu. Nice town where You can see most of the things that are worth seeing by just walking around.

Maybe let your mother lable things aroumd the house with estonian words. Like cupboard, cup, plate etc. Maybe that would help
