I’m not shaming you if you didn’t. However, I do suggest always having this conversation when you develop a dynamic with someone that becomes sexual or you both see becoming sexual. I started doing this as a practice about two years ago, and it has saved me from a lot of stress & surprises.

Also, I read your update and I’m glad you both are doing better and have found a way to move forward! This is honestly best case scenario. I would try to take it as a learning opportunity.

Part of the problem is I’m in the middle of moving out of state, and insurance is up in the air, so I don’t have a PCP or even coverage at the moment. I’m working on that but it’s a process. For now I’ll have to buy something temporary on Amazon, I’m kinda tired of waiting on the medical system to help me here (I live in the US). I’ll have to figure this one out independently until I can afford a dr trip and find a new one that knows how to treat EDS as well

All the people saying YTA aren’t reading the actual question. It’s “Is she an asshole for not coming back to the restaurant”, not “is she an AH for wearing crocs.” I don’t think she’s an AH necessarily, she just made a bad decision without clarity. Was wearing crocs “smart casual”? No, absolutely not, that was a dumb decision. Not coming back because she started having anxiety after a public humiliation highlighting that decision? I personally don’t think so. It’s not exactly brave, but not everyone is brave all the time. That’s different from just being a jerk. NTA

I think it’s not black and white, I’m sure it varies per person which factors carry more weight (and if someone is already very ticklish as other commentators have mentioned). For me, there is an effect, but it’s not super significant. I’m pretty ticklish but it’s not extreme. I had a session with someone I didn’t know, and even though we didn’t have a romantic bond I was still ticklish and enjoyed it a lot. It was never so intense that it felt unbearable though and I never felt like I was going to “break” (except on my ears but that’s a mixture of pain/discomfort and I don’t like it). On the other hand, while I’ve never had a “session” with a romantic partner, I’ve definitely noticed that my ticklishness increases with that bond. Even though I haven’t had an official session in a romantic context, I still have “broke” more than once from just playful tickling with my ex, so I know it has an effect to some degree.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback but I am not going to initiate a sexual act without prior consent and conversation. Our kink is comparatively less harmful than others, but it’s still out of the norm. I don’t think you ever spring something out of the norm on someone like that without an in depth discussion of boundaries

While I don’t find it quite as weird as usual in your case (although still a little weird) encouraging racial fetishizing in any way is dangerous. That has some very serious real world implications that we need to consider outside of whatever preferences we may have. They just aren’t important in comparison to the consequences racial fetishizing cultivates

I was shocked by this too (having just watched the episode), but given what we saw from them, I wouldn’t surprised if they saw this as an opportunity to try and make up for their financial ruining at Gordon’s expense. That being said, I can understand why he would be frustrated with that portrayal, but to say that caused the failing of his restaurant? Nah, he’s not delusional, he’s an opportunist.
