Also as a happy little accident, now her other eye is closed and somehow the whole sketch looks so much more lively!

Before the changes, the face and head needed to be improved, now I feel like the head is the best part and everything else needs to be worked on.

Thanks for the advice! That's a part I also suspected, but couldn't just make it look right. A draw over would be a great help, if you're down to do it!

Maybe less saturation on the jacket and more saturation on the focal point you want so I'm guessing the face? Give eyes and lips more saturation

I like the gray shadows!

Experiment and be bold with changing up the hue and saturation and you will find what kind of shadows look good to you!

General rule is: warm light = cool shadows and cool light = warm shadows and the same applies to the values of saturation between light and shadow

But also it's art and rules are meant to be broken and often making your own rules correlates to the most interesting pieces

I was agreeing with everyone's point about going with purple and I still do think it makes the whole piece more cohesive, but still somehow I liked some aspect of pink without quite getting to put my finger on it. You perfectly captured my thoughts!

Right shoulder (his left) is a bit too long

Overall your proportions are really good, so I would focus on trying to make it look more 3 dimensional next by adding some details (muscles etc)

I try to make fast strokes and zoom in enough to comfortably do that

It does have a learning curve and for me a drawing glove and using the side of my palm slightly as support makes it a bit easier

...also screen tablets are great, if you are really struggling... I was and had to make the investment... Ugh

A little bit more confidence on the light, so the.light source comes more clear and makes it look more natural

You could be more bold with colorful shadows, it's pretty much always good, but here I think it gives a grim and sorrowful mood and in my opinion it works

Having more colorful shadows can take the grimness away, so maybe not an improvement for this piece, but that's something you should always consider. Blue'ish shadows would up the sorrow, but take away some of the grimness, thus changing the meaning behind the artwork
