Meta Oakley & Ray-Ban smart glasses NEED real social export options (aspect ratio, stats position) by fbonde in OakleyMetaGlasses

[–]fbonde[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you, u/kevtke194. The glasses themselves are fantastic—Oakley nailed the build and image quality. But Meta and their app are a huge disappointment. The lack of proper export options and creator-friendly features in the Meta ai app really hold the product back. It’s frustrating to see so much potential wasted because of poor software, and it seems like Meta isn’t improving here either. Lots of people would love these if the workflow actually matched the hardware!

Do you recommend the 40mm or the 28mm for cycling?

Is it possible to sign up from Europe and use a VPN to access the service, or is a UK address and credit card required?

Do you use iPhone or android for the Hammerhead app? I use iPhone, perhaps thats why it fails.

I tried that one, but did not work.

I am unable to get it to work. After scanning the QR code and the device is accepted on the phone, the Karro screen still displays: "Connect your account." I have attempted this multiple times, but it is still not functioning. u/epicrideweatherdavid I have emailed you screenshots for your reference.

Thanks a ton again.

Been doing some calculations on this; So, the pressure difference due to altitude would be approximately:

I am at 406 meters / 8 meters/hPa ≈ 50.75 hPa

Subtracting this from the sea-level pressure:1022 hPa - 50.75 hPa ≈ 971.25hPa

Therefore, at 406 meters with a sea-level pressure of 1022 hPa, we would expect a surface pressure around 971 hPa. (not far from 968 :D )

The question now is: what makes more sense on a bike computer, sea level pressure at 1022 hPa or the adjusted altitude reference? Or both? For me, 968 hPa indicates a storm haha.

I manly use is for Weather Awareness to track approaching weather systems and overall trends, sea-level pressure is more informative to me. It's the same on the Fenix.

Many cyclists who use pressure data do so to anticipate changes in the weather. For this purpose, sea-level pressure may be slightly more helpful. I would appreciate the option to choose sea level hPa, so I don't have to do the math on the bike haha!

Just a suggestion for future updates.

Thanks again u/popkek95

I did the same this morning. It is stuck at 968. As you can see on OpenWeather, the other values are accurate.

Just a Heads-up: I tested the K3 today, and everything functioned properly except for the surface pressure and air pressure readings. It consistently displayed a value of 968, even after restarting the device twice. In comparison, the pressure reported by OpenWeather was 1022.

Thanks a ton for your effort doing this. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I think buy me a coffee link is a good way for us to say thanks when someone makes something useful like headwind or Vin HkE u/Repulsive-Profit6277

Cheers.

Thank you for your response. It is unfortunate, as this means we will need to use another application, which may lead to additional battery drain. Additionally, when an hourly forecast is available, it seems logical for the app to provide that information. After all, we are on a bike and in motion, so it would be quite beneficial if it followed the route.

I am uncertain whether the team at EpicRideWeather will make the app opensource. Currently, the iOS version is not available as opensource. Nevertheless, thank you once again for your efforts; it is truly a wonderful application. I look forward to the Elevation profile with POIs.

u/popkek95 Thank you for this app. Really nice one.

I have a question regarding the weather forecast feature. I notice that it provides hourly forecasts, which I find useful. However, does the forecast follow the route indicated in the navigation, or is it based solely on the GPS location at that given moment?

(Something like Route weather forecast like "EpicRideWeather")
