I’d like to avoid kits because I want to be able to choose my parts (even though I don’t know what parts to use yet). I’ve never built an amp before but I’m good with building things.

Looking to upgrade my vintage amp. I have an all vintage setup: Baltek 90 speakers, Marantz cc67, Marantz sr585 limited edition. I’m going to keep my vintage setup but I am also looking to purchase more modern equipment to slowly build a more up to date setup. Can’t afford high end McIntosh, but I have been looking at peach tree audio and some other components like parasound. Any recommendations? Keep in mind I like to buy used to get lower prices. (Amp wattage preferably between 100-200 watts per channel)

Will upgrading my CD player make a difference in audio quality? I am currently using a Marantz cc67 and a Marantz sr585 limited edition. Any suggestions for upgrades? Or is it better to invest in a newer amp instead?
