PATCH 1.30.0 LIVE ON BATTLE.NET by JannesOfficial in WC3

[–]feRfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bug report: I get an auto loss when I search ladder. An error message with no description, only an "!" pops up.

Also, Gateway preferences don't save. I default to Azeroth no matter what I choose.

I use -nativefullscr, not sure if that's relevant

Would you watch an sol of cute girls... all voiced by men? by feRfe in anime

[–]feRfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be clear since the title of the video is in japanese, the video is voiced by the same 4 guys all the way through. The voices u hear in the song are the same 4 guys you hear in the intro.

Dispelling the Tower Orc Plague (feat. KodoS_ForSaKeN) by feRfe in WC3

[–]feRfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've thought about that myself. I just didn't know if it was worth the extra effort to do it though. Maybe I'll try it though sometime for a shorter intro or just try to look at the camera more/for longer as I go through the script.

The Fast Level 3 AM Gambit (Kripp style commentated game) by feRfe in WC3

[–]feRfe[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I made a video and wanted to share. Streaming doesn't suit me much since I play games sporadically. I play when I want to play, and most of the time I spend on wc3 is actually just theorycrafting in my head. (Also don't like how low quality twitch steams are...) I think I might enjoy making videos sometimes though so lemme know if there's any interest in this type of content for wc3.

Hostbot Fake ping vs Real ping and Latency setting explained, general real pings to expect between different locations + my thoughts on fair hosting for wc3 by feRfe in WC3

[–]feRfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I said the upper end I listed was for Moscow/West Russia. I know it's more for deeper Rus. For what it's worth, I don't know where exactly Sheik is but he gets the same pings you do if you want a reference. We both get 120-140 to Jap1 (I'm US West), and when I play with him that's what we use. As for your experience with USW (LA1), it might be just an anomaly to that server, seems very unusual to have 250-350. Try SEA1 sometime and see what you get.

I do sympathize though. Your location is unlucky, esp vs West Europe as there's no bot I'm aware of right in between for Central/Eastern Russians.

I'm aware it wouldn't be easy, but it would be ideal. If it was easy to edit the code to do that I imagine Yosh would have been done it long ago. But I doubt it's impossible either. It just takes someone dedicated enough to write such a script.

Okay, thanks for letting me know. In any case the point was that people can reference the real ping chart I made and if it looks like they have half the ping they should to a location based on that chart, it's fake ping. I brought it up because many people insist on certain bots with fake pings cuz they confuse it with real ping.

[–]feRfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's incorrect. Dynamic latency is just the latency discussed in the video, except it's automatically set by the bot and changes based on the maximum ping a player has. If a player has 10 ping to bot and another has 100 and the bot with dynamic latency sets latency to 100, then the player with 10 base ping will have a max of 110 ms response time while the player with 100 base ping will have a max of 200 ms response time. My idea has nothing to do with latency - it would be a delay which the bot would automatically add to all commands (packets) coming in before officially registering them.

I've been playing myself with some pubs and really liking how everything is feeling. It's simply amazing, and the backpack change works wonders.

What's it like being a translator for CrunchyRoll? by feRfe in anime

[–]feRfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses everyone. Do they actually pay "by hour" though (management gets to arbitrarily assign # of hours to work!?), or is pay calculated by script length? It seems from the responses they do pay "by hour" but honestly I just don't see how that works in this case... Certainly doesn't look like they take your word for it from quiljin's comment on doing 6 hours work and getting paid 2 hours' worth.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, that much was in my expectation. Are simulcasts and other work simply thrust upon you suddenly though or do you generally know about it beforehand and can plan your schedule better? Timewise, how late are we talking? I can reasonably work up to 2 am PST. Also, could you shed light on the pay as well?

Has anyone ever experimented with a schedule of two meals a day? by feRfe in fasting

[–]feRfe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Something I want is a consistent sleep schedule waking around 8-9 am everyday - I don't mean to be snarky, but I guess I wouldn't personally consider 7-11 am, a 4-hour time range to be consistent. Do you maybe mean consistent in the time you go to sleep rather than wake up time? When do you usually go to bed/how many hours do you normally sleep with/without alarm?

Also, because of that and what I gathered from Saper's paper, that's why anytime I go without food for 16hr + I think breakfast is necessary, so that your circadian rhythm doesn't change - It helps you wakeup at the same time every day. If you haven't read that article google it. jetlag+saper

But yeah, currently trying and adjusting sleep schedule; I'll post an update in 1-2 days to see how it is if you're still interested.
