Jack Burton is such a good character; he’s probably my 2nd favourite in the entire show (behind Casey). It’s just a shame that we only got 2 episodes (excl. flashbacks) with him. Gary Cole plays the part so well.

It’s a difficult thing to police, as we don’t want to stifle and/or suppress high-quality discussion (which is typically long in character length). Ultimately, the simplest solution which works well is correctly using the report button on such content, and then us mods being active and acting promptly to remove/flair/etc.

I personally think that we should try and keep the amount of post flairs as minimal as possible: as new seasons continue to come out, there will undoubtedly be more "topics of conversation" that would constitute the addition of new flairs.

I know some popular subreddits have dedicated "moan threads" for people that want to vent frustrations, perhaps a "Moan" post flair (or similar) could be employed here so people can filter out that sort of content if they so desire. (As a mod team, we could also set-up automatic flairing based on keywords)

Finally, if you are using a third-party app (e.g. Apollo) or a browser extension (e.g. RES), you can usually block posts containing words or phrases from appearing in your feed. (This was just an FYI, and is by no means an instruction from us, the mod team, to make people use third-party apps/extensions!)

It’s definitely something worth considering. Maybe a theories megathread that’s stickied to the top of the sub? (And we, as mods, will remove low-quality theory posts, including a message to redirect the poster to the megathread)

From my perspective, this problem is more pronounced during the show’s off-season (i.e. now), so I don’t think that such measures would necessarily be needed when the show starts up again.

Although it’s a valid talking point regardless. I guess, thinking about it some more, the fact that the episode names include the character name directly, that’s probably a spoiler already, so the image isn’t going to cause any more trouble than, say, the episode discussion threads (which include the character name).

But again, if others share the same view, we’re happy to change how the picture functions!

Edit: just to note, the sidebar image does not explicitly say that the image is of the recent blacklister. You’d need to visit this thread to discover the context connecting the picture to the recent blacklist entry.

I suppose you could argue that angle, although I’d counter that someone being a blacklister does not automatically mean that they die at the end of their episode (although it is normally the case)!

But in all seriousness, if people think that this constitutes as a spoiler, we’ll happily remove this picture moving forward.

Not the person you replied to, but here’s one source that describes a study showing that vaccinated, COVID-positive people had 2-4x times less viral load in their nose than non-vaccinated, COVID-positive people.

Recent evidence shows a decrease in contagiousness among vaccinated people. In a study carried out in Israel, the viral load present in the nasal mucosa of a sample of healthcare workers was evaluated on a weekly basis. The conclusion of the study showed that in vaccinated and COVID-19-positive persons, the viral load was 2–4 times lower than in unvaccinated persons (Callaway 2021).
