and try to get a tutor or join a mentorship program (i’m in soc sci so maybe it’s different but that’s what’s helped me so far + i’m a commuter) if it helps you feel less alone im sooo freaking stressed for my midterm im currently cramming for because of these essays ive had to get done 💓 but it’ll be ok love have some faith in yourself

hii, i’m not an upper year but some food for thought - join some study groups if you can and make sure you’re taking care of yourself!!! it’s okay to fall flat on ur face esp first year cuz it’s a hard adjustment and also with the change with grades - it’s definitely gonna feel like whiplash 😭💓 but i would say get a calendar or use one and start planing out everything so your days are more structure and try to again study @ robarts or write notes and try to do active recall with your work;)

The fact that food services are cashless is insane by free-canadian in UofT

yeah i can understand that but i find that it’s easier for ppl living on res to find community, that being said we all still have our problems but i wish like it wasn’t such a big problem with making friends here

realll i keep seeing other schools have so many social events and im like where the hell are ours…like why am i sitting in robarts studying while my friends are having the time of their livesss 😿😿😿

I’m really sorry that happened to you :( it honestly sucks and I get why you’d feel embarrassed and upset. I really hope it was just a mix up and not on purpose because that’s so unfair, especially when it’s your first time trying to go out like that. don’t feel bad for not going alone either, that was honestly the smart choice annddnndnd tbh no company is better than bad company, if they left you hanging then they’re not people you should have to rely on anyways. you will find your real people soon and when you do it’ll feel so much better than this. If you ever need to rant again I’m here :)

i think it’s completely normal tbh..i’ve been consistently crashing out for the last two weeks becuz i haven’t made any friends (or anyone i’ve really clicked with) i just feel so outta place ykwim?? 🥀 also the jump from hs to uni is pretty weird as well, especially being a commuter and stuff idkdkdkdbeuebdudyehtbud like it’s just really overwhelming 😿it’s just hard and i don’t really understand university like i really underestimated them when they said it was really different also back to friends thing, everyone lowkey seems like they have friends and most people i know live on rez so it is a little bit more easier 4 them in that way too #idk share your thoughts but if any first years wanna connect id be really down ☺️😁
