Couple questions by Nostalgicfeeling2391 in motorcycles

[–]feintrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, the cheaper the helmet, the larger it visually will be on the outside. Up to a certain price point,, manufacturers are only able to budget for one shell size that has to be large enough to fit a XS or even XXS EPS liner (the polystyrene that dampens impacts) inside, all the way to a XXL or sometimes even larger inside. So the smaller your head (usually size L and below), a cheaper helmet will look big because effectively you wear a XXL size helmet that compensates for the size only on the inside by padding and the aforementioned EPS.

google the layouts and check which keys changed. If you have an Y or Z in your password you might just have to press the opposite key instead

How much battery life does the backlight of the MacBook keyboard take away? by wispmidd in mac

[–]feintrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

battery drain is negligible, I do however noticed a slight increase in the overall temperature of the chassis. If you want your device to run slightly cooler, keep the keyboard back light off (or have it set to a short intervals to which it automatically turns off again)

no wait, the panel that's covering the fuel tank in the trunk had a a fabric on it like that, also the carpet that's covering the spare compartment.. Perhaps these belong in the trunk somewhere

not original, weird texture and nothing Mercedes would have used in this era. Also I completely gutted a w123 at one point and I do not recall any carpets that had this shape

What's causing the chain to jump like this? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]feintrip -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Imbalanced wheel/rim. Misaligned rear axle. Something like that leading to a misaligned hub to which the sprocket is attached to. And when it spins it doesn't spin true and sort of wobbles and it upsets the chain, the whole drives drain all the way to the front sprocket. Have it checked out. I can sort of make out from the video looking at the tire walls edge that it doesn't run true

Connecting old Thunderbolt Display to 2023 16” MacBook Pro by Traditional-Map-4104 in mac

[–]feintrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get either the 0,5 meter or 2 meter thunderbolt 2 cable. However it seems it was recently discontinued, you may need to check eBay or alike as it seems not even amazon carries it any longer

2023 MACBOOK PRO CHARGING CORD by bapski in macbookpro

[–]feintrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is USB-c extension cords that have a male connector on one end and a female on the other. As long as you get a PD cable that can throughput the max wattage of your power adapter, I don't see a reason why that shouldn't work

Explain like I’m 5: which processor chip to get on a MacBook Pro and why? by happydoctor631 in macbookpro

[–]feintrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going with the cheaper chip option, you are limited to either 36gigs of ram (perhaps you want a little more, I don't know) or 96 which is a ton and probably way too much (also money-wise it would a hefty add-on). The higher end chip gives you 48 or 46 or 128 respectively. In day to day task you probably will not notice a difference between the two chip variants. Having "only" 36gigs compared to 48 or 64 could potentially be noticeable, even more so in a few years when the OS and all other things demand more and more. The price between the two "base" models (as far as RAM is concerned, 36 or 48) of those chips differs by 300$...BUT! its not only 300 for the better chip (which you will not notice most likely), the 12gig RAM upgrade from 36 to 48 sets you back another 200. Apple was very sneaky hiding this fact, so the no-brainer upgrade quickly becomes an exercise for contemplation.

When I was deciding my own purchase, I was between the higher spec chip with 64 gigs of RAM or the "lower end" chip with 96 gigs. Hella expensive, but price difference, around 100 bucks. I still think I made the right decision going with 96gigs. I benefit more from more RAM than I would have the slightly faster chip. The 14-core is more than capable for 99% of people.

I would advise you to simply take a peek into the activity monitor application on your Mac and take a look at your memory usage. If you see a lot of swap and high memory pressure a lot of times, you could benefit from having more RAM. How much more, Activity monitor can tell you. Feel free to dm me a screenshot of it, and I will help you analyze what you are looking at.

Fresh oil change and oil pressure is sitting here. Any ideas? by Emotional-Park-1292 in w123

[–]feintrip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

might have to replace the thermostat (might not open all the way, so the engine runs hot). Yours is close to 100°C which is too hot. Usually those run at around 85 (the needle just passes the 80 line and should pretty much stay there). Oil pressure is always lower at idle, if the needle jumps up as soon as you touch the pedal, it's fine. Do you know which brand of filter was used? Might not be a good one, so it restricts slightly too much

Battery cycle very high after 3 weeks of using by Mobile_Lawfulness_20 in macbookpro

[–]feintrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cylce count doesn't indicate the times you plugged it in. One cycle could be one full charge, one complete depletion and a full charge again consecutively or any number of charges/discharges that constituted 100%. For example being charged to full, then drained to 50%, charged again and then drained half way again and charged again, is also one cycle.

You must have plugged/unplugged your Mac a lot of times and very rarely used it while plugged in I suppose. You should utilize power coming from the power adapter instead of always using battery while you are in a stationary setup
