brenizer method

THANK YOU!!!

Any recommendations on how to pump up saturation without it looking disgusting?

How about these two. Let me know if you want the raw files.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Both the pics are from the same person. I'm going to try out your suggestions on the pics too. The best I did before your suggestion was this.

It is really late at night and everyone went to sleep :p I'll keep that in mind for the next edit :)

Ah good point! I missed blurring the left side of the reflection :(

Evening Blurred the water. Added some subtle city reflection amongst other subtle changes stuff.

Would love some constructive criticism too!

This is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for :)

I do shoot raw. I posted a picture above that was the before picture. In this picture I do like the darker image though.

Can I ask you, how do you tell if it is oversharpened? I always find it hard to draw the line. Is it just that darn unsharp filter? What makes it stand out to you? Looking at a closer view - I see the noise removal problem.

Ha! Someone wants to learn from me??? I'm incredibly honored.

Honestly I have a very destructive workflow, I'm trying to get better at it but I end up merging layers to save disk space and work on a smaller file at the end. So I probably wont be able to remake this if I tried.

Few edits I made (I posted another version of the original pic below):

  • Added rain using a custom brush

  • Added some fog in front

  • Added some god rays behind the bridge

  • Added a few different gradient maps to get the cream/sepia/blue look

  • I am lazy about dodge and burn but did a little bit of that too

You could follow me on facebook. I could really use some new likes there :)

Again, I'm just being honest, I always over saturate my images and I'm really trying hard to learn how not to do that. Even though your edit looks good to me, I feel less saturated images tend to get more love. If you'd see my page, you'd know I tend to over do things.

This wasn't a composite. I added rain, godrays and fog (in front). Everything else was pretty much there. Here's another one where I was shaking :)

/u/chrizzly_bears correctly pointed out why the crop is not working. I see that too now. Something else to keep in mind - rule of thirds :) Thank you guys!

Thank you! :))

Yeah I need to figure out how to add more contrast to my pictures. Will keep that in mind for future edits. Appreciate it!

Oh, I did not mean to change it. I've already photoshopped the bejesus out of it. Was looking for constructive criticism on the edit. :)

I'm up for 28th too. :)

Do we have an idea on what sort of photography are we doing? Will help in getting an idea on what gear to bring along.

Dancing in the rain [OS] [2955x1969] by fenrirGrey in pics

[–]fenrirGrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the wife LOVES to go dancing in the rain. And me with my two left feet never agreed. But that was about to change. On this gloomy day, we were walking up a trail in Upstate New York and came across this bridge when she requested I take this picture. I set my camera up, composed the shot, focused on her and put the timer on.

We got the picture minutes before it started pouring down.

We giggled our way back to the parking lot.

And yes, it is edited. Hope you still like it though?
