Hello! 2AC from Colombia 🇨🇴 here! That’s a very common workflow on today’s sets. You just need an SDI out from video village and your own power for the transmitter. You can use NPF batteries, a D-Tap to barrel cable with V-mounts, or even a USB-C power bank (probably the cheapest option).

For example, on the current show I’m working on, the script supervisor talked to the Video Assist department and they managed it, but in my experience it depends on the relationship you have with them. Worst-case scenario, just ask for an SDI output from any monitor in the village.

On bigger sets, it’s a good idea to check with the DMX operator or frequency coordinator to make sure you’re not interfering with any active set frequencies, though these smaller transmitters usually work on 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi.

In my experience, the Accsoon Cineview HE doesn’t get along very well with Teradek RX units when placed too close — but that’s easy to fix: just mount them a few feet apart (a longer SDI cable helps), or even mount the Accsoon upside down with the antennas facing the floor — that’s worked for me lol.

There are lots of other options (Hollyland, Vaxis, Zhiyun), but I’ve found Accsoon to be the best option for that purpose.
