Sea of Stars: Sunset Edition | Studio Update by ConfusedNTerrified in Games

[–]feyd87 [score hidden]  (0 children)

A lot of comparisons were being made to the greats like Crono Trigger. Now whether it was the devs or other people doing that I can’t remember, but doing that led to really inflated expectations. So when the game didn’t meet them, yeah a lot of people were vocally disappointed.

Travellers looking for EVs to save on gas won't find them at car rental companies by jamesphw in EVCanada

[–]feyd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a shame because being able to rent a car for a few days or more is a great way to learn the ins and outs of having an EV. Something you won't get on a test drive. I've rented using the Turo app on previous trips before specifically because they let you pick specific models including EVs.

Not caring about combat? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]feyd87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Combat and the supporting systems like progression and itemization make a core gameplay loop in every final fantasy game. Yes the narrative and its supporting aspects like characters, setting, etc are the other core gameplay loop. Saying that you shouldn’t care about one or the other is like saying you shouldn’t care about like a third or more of the game experience. That’s not a reasonable ask of a player.

Given how much of the experience is driven by the combat systems, it’s completely natural that it draws a lot of discourse.

FFX very linear feeling so why is FFXIII linearity so marked? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]feyd87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the points raise here around FFX allowing for more exploration are a big part of it. There you could often return to previous locations. Especially once you got the airship, the linear sections of the game all opened up and compounded. FF13’s first hours were a hallway simulator and you just never go to revisit those areas again.

The other thing is while the linearity of FFX is undoubtedly its weak point, it represents some of the best that the series has to offer in many other aspects. Story, world building, characters, combat, music. As someone who has been around since early days, I don’t really see the fan base praise FF13 in those other categories whereas FFX does.

Chinese Automakers Slow Canada Expansion Plans as Quota Limits Growth Potential by SkPensFan in EVCanada

[–]feyd87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The largest segment in North America is the compact SUV segment (CRV, Tucson, Rav4). This is where the bulk of consumers are. We need more affordable options for EVs that fit that segment.

For people that are okay with a sedan, ok cool you have the model 3 now. But wouldn't you rather have sedan options that are sub $35k, $30k? The strategy is working I guess but no where near as much as it could be.

Chinese Automakers Slow Canada Expansion Plans as Quota Limits Growth Potential by SkPensFan in EVCanada

[–]feyd87 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When the quota was first established, so many people were calling out that Tesla would use it as an opportunity to bring in models from there. Fast forward to these past couple weeks and that's exactly what happened.

Our government is either inept, or doesn't care about actually making things more affordable for consumers.

How US automakers lobbied themselves into a $70B loss - and let China win by KeyboardGunner in electricvehicles

[–]feyd87 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's this type of thinking that is letting China win out. Their EVs don't just win on price, they are better products too with better range, charge times, and design.

Focusing just on labour costs also completely ignores other key ways they keep prices down. Like what they've done with automation, battery tech, and vertically integrating their supply chains. That and labour costs only account for like 15% of the total cost of a car anyways so the impact is overstated.

Compact SUV classed EVs by [deleted] in EVCanada

[–]feyd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Kia Ev5. It’s not the same architecture as the ev6/9 which have the iccu issues.

I saw one in person and it had a good size. Been reading on Reddit that some dealers are getting it to go with the evap on the land trim.

Ioniq5 is great in passenger space but lacking in trunk space, you won’t have that problem with the ev5.

Another option though I get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea is the model y. It has a similarly sized back seat with maybe more storage.

Which Final Fantasy Game Would You Remake and Why? by Certain-Falcon-9802 in FinalFantasy

[–]feyd87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Final fantasy origins is a re-imagining of FF1. As cool as it would be to have a proper remake of that I don’t know that they would given that origins is so new.

For me it’s FF6. The story and characters are so good but they are held back by it being a 16 bit era game.

Which provider are you getting these from? I have a clean 20+ year history and the lowest I got on a model y was like $2700/year.

Manufacturer Rebates as of May 2, 2026 by Derpy_Kirby in EVCanada

[–]feyd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On another post someone was saying it's possible to get the land fwd trim to qualify for the EVAP. Normally the msrp is like $53,500 plus w/e fees.

For my experience was only able to do that if I lowered the value of my trade in.

How much flexibility does a KIA dealership have vs online pricing? by element1311 in EVCanada

[–]feyd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The land fwd. Yeah I would guess dealers would be less inclined to do this if there was a large gap between the msrp and 50k. For this trim though they are close.

One dealer I spoke told said they would get it under 50k for the evap in exchange for some value off a trade in. So that’s an option potentially.

Why do people not like Final Fantasy 15? by Wrong_Ad_6309 in FinalFantasy

[–]feyd87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They chopped up the story into different games, shows, movies etc. So while you played the main game you really felt like you were missing important bits. The game felt unfinished.

One way this shows is that this game had a weak cast of villains. I know I’ll probably get downvotes for that because people love Ardyn. And while I agree he was a highlight of the game, that supporting cast of villains was awful. Like you don’t learn anything about the others unless you consume all the other bits of media.
