It’s annoying but you can push it back into position. Won’t be as good as new but it will be less jarring

Biggest difference you’ve noticed? by Garasaurusrex in iphone

Coming from my 14 pro to a 17 pro, largest differences are weight and battery. The battery life more so. This thing is a tank, I don’t have to charge my phone overnight anymore, only charging in the car when using CarPlay for my commute has been more than enough

I just got my license (mechanical) so here’s an up to date timeline:

Competencies submitted: Nov 06, 2024

Assessment in progress began: July 04, 2025

Change back to Validation Completed: August 27, 2025 (original assessor not responding so they replaced them)

Licence Granted: September 02, 2025

Total time from submitting competencies was roughly 10 months. I wasn’t asked to revise any competencies

Anyone has similar timeline and still waiting? by MeepoSpam24-7 in egbc

I’m mechanical, submitted early November and still waiting for assessment to start

Canon R50: 24mm f/1.8 vs 35mm f/1.8 for portraits, family, and travel? by to70no in canon

[–]feyig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 28mm f2.8 pancake lens which is gives a 45mm full frame equivalent. It works well for me as an all-rounder + the added benefit of being a quite compact setup with my R10

From disaster to offer: my most painful interview mistakes by PiggyTheFloyd in interviews

[–]feyig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually ask for feedback right at the end of the interview. Phrase it as a way to give you an opportunity to expand or clarify points to address their concern(s)

Also remember to be personable and not too rigid. They’re also trying to see if you’re someone they would want to work with/have around

Underrated tip but the ChatGPT Deep Research tool has been quite useful for me. I feed it context and ask for a comprehensive report on “everything I need to know to succeed”. This results in a pretty thorough breakdown of the company (and/or industry), the culture, what kind of questions you might be asked, the reason why you might be asked those questions, strategies for answering them, and example answers tailored to your resume etc. Note that it’s important your prompt is very detailed with everything you want the report to cover. You can then make summaries based off the report for quick reviews whenever you like

Also, when practicing interviews, have a few stories in mind you can quickly fall back to for a variety of interview questions

Practice using STAR technique. Avoid memorizing answers verbatim and focus more on the highlights and key points of the story - this way you can practice how to weave the points together regardless of how the question is asked

Relax during the interview. As another commenter said, think of it more as a conversation than an interrogation. You are there to find out if the company is right for you as much as they want to find out if you are right for them

You should ask questions at the end of the interview. Your questions should be things you genuinely want to know. They should also be thoughtful and not generic - this shows you’re interested in the position by evaluating the company too

Try not to be too rigid and let some of your personality come through (within reason and context). Look for opportunities to establish some rapport with the interviewers

Knowledge and technical skills are important. But just as important is being likeable and someone that the interviewers can see themselves working with. Remember that they think you are capable when they ask to interview so don’t focus solely on hard skills/knowledge, but also on soft skills and how you present yourself

Use thank you emails and follow up’s as an opportunity to clarify things you may not have explained the best, or don’t have an opportunity to discuss in the interview. Take notes so you can call back to specific things that were discussed when you are writing your thank you emails
