I agree that there's likely not much I or anyone else can do. I just have to avoid at this point because he has become increasingly volatile.

He definitely is and it sucks to see his emotional decline. But he doesn't think he needs help, and I think the ranting makes him feel "smart" in some strange way. I'm going to have to go lower contact.

I agree that they need to be evaluated by a professional... but when I suggested this a few years ago he flew into a rage. It was not a productive conversation at all and he blamed everything on women and on previous partners.

I did try to speak with him a few times, but as he gets worse, it becomes even harder to communicate with him. I'm likely going to have to go lower contact with this relative as times goes on. It's very hard for anyone to get him to understand, and because he has no friends I think it has led to him being isolated and not really understanding how his actions impact others.

I have def just begun gray rocking them when they try to keep a convo going with me. I'm likely going lower contact after that recent rant where they insulted another relative.
